First Blood. Underrated movie, action or otherwise.

 

I much prefer the novel version of Rambo to Stallone's take, though I do think it was a good idea to make Rambo more sympathetic. I like the film, it's an interesting take on bringing the war home and just how much duress some soldiers endure. Entertaining but also thought provoking and yeah that forest stalking sequence is pretty nuts.

Every Frame a Painting Action Comedy Jackie Chan - This is a wonderfully informative and interesting film critique series of web episodes. Yeah, I may prefer Sammo Hung, but this is a terrific piece.

 

The Client. A lot of a good actors, but none of the characters are sympathetic at all except the lawyer, which is odd because I almost never like the lawyer character.

Just finished His Name is Nobody (1979) - not be confused with My Name is Nobody. The one I watched is a Kung Fu film and another sad death for my man (always when he plays a Sifu.)

WWII in HD

 

"The Dirty Dozen" on TCM. My brother and I figure it and "Patton" are shown on some network or channel at least once every month.

 

Okay, probably my favorite martial arts fight scene since the final fight in the Victim is this one from the Shaw Brothers take on the Sword Stained with Royal Blood. I loved this movie when I discovered it this weekend.

To find a beautiful version of this fight... oh thank you internets.

Fantastic (and fun to see the Scorpion do one of the Centipede's signature moves...)

Robert Rodriguez' El Rey network showed this back in March so I am hoping a U.S. digital release is not far behind. Celestial are releasing a lot of Shaw Brothers through digital platforms and I would love to own this movie.
