Violent Violet Menace, is Desperate Hours the one with Mickey Rourke and Anthony Hopkins? I saw that last year.

 

No, I looked into it now, and it turns out that the original title was Butterfly on a Wheel. But since few English speakers, let alone foreigners, can connect the title to the expression the title stems from, they changed it to Desperate Hours for the European market, and to Shattered for the US market. It's a British-Canadian production. Apparently, the title is a reference to a poem in which the author rhetorically asks "who breaks a butterfly upon a wheel?", meaning 'why do a simple task in an overly complicated way'?

The movie is about Pierce Brosnan tormenting Gerard Butler and his wife Maria Bello because Butler schtooped Brosnan's wife. Anthony Hopkins is Welsh, by the way.

3 years later and I'm watching this too. I guess they wanted another Sherlock? It's fine viewing, but nowhere near the surrealism of the source material. Somewhere between Jonathan Creek and Sherlock I guess. Currently on #3 of the 4 shows made. Still no half cats or Greek gods.

Local news, but this is protesters trying to stop a ship headed to the artic for oil drilling. The protesters are hanging from a bridge and tied together. This $&@! Is awesome.
