It's circa 1989 and has the Saved by the Bell crew getting pumped up by previewing the NBC Saturday Morning Cartoon lineup (and I do vaguely remember some of those shows) and ALF is in it and John Candy and it's kinda late 80s neon tech Wizard of Oz and so there's a very good chance 9 year old me did watch this.

"The Case of the Lucky Legs" on TCM. It's one of the WB Perry Mason movies from the 30's, with Warren William as Mason. If you're only familiar with the Raymond Burr TV series, the Warren William movies are quite a change. They have more of a "Thin Man" tone, with fast, witty dialogue and Mason portrayed in a clear Nick Charles style.

 

The slow creeping descent of society into madness.
