Arashi - Akira Sakata, Johan Berthling, Paal Nilssen-Love

Exactly one album that convinced me to check out as many albums by the three musicians involved as I could get my hand on. Arashi spiraled into like 15 different albums. That alone earns it a top spot in my books. The fact that it's a really entertaining ride is just a plus.

Miles at the Fillmore – Miles Davis 1970: The Bootleg Series Vol. 3. - Miles Davis

This consists of the same set list performed four times and I still can't stop listening to it. Everyone was playing top notch on these nights, it's right after Bitches Brew has been put in the can, and basically there's no way I wasn't going to love this album. Sure enough.

The Water by Mick Jenkins is incredible. If you listen to hip hop, check this out. It's the best thing in years.

I decided to cheat and count a split 7' as an EP because the Record Store Day release of new Sunny Day Real Estate was, by far, the most surprising release of the year for me.

The only 2014 album I listened to was Opeth's Pale Communion, but it was pretty good so I'm gonna go with that.

Hmm... I guess my favorite new album of 2014 would be Mastodon's Once More 'Round the Sun.

After the Disco by Broken Bells. Great Album, my favorite song being the eponymous song from the album.

    .

Next up is False Face by God Module. Still love these guys.

Heroes by Sabaton. I'm not a metalhead, in fact I don't really even like power metal, but I like these guys.

Lastly, The Kurios Soundtrack from Cirque du Soleil's latest show, Kurios. I was able to see the show live and loved the music in addition to the acts.
