    Coin ops. . .

I hate to make you feel old, but . . . YOU ARE OLD!

However. I have played a few at movie theaters, mini-golf courses and a rec center.

    POW
    Area 51
Beachhead (? it has a turret thing that comes down I may not have the right name)

"Old" is relative. And who cares how "old" you are, as long as you're not hitting on high school girls (or boys). I mean, if they approach YOU, that's one thing...

Ahem. My favourite coin-ops? Boy, I'm ancient. Here goes nothin' (at least in terms of total memory required):

    1.) Galaga
    2.) Ms. Pac-Man
    3.) Sinistar
    4.) Robotron:2084
5.) Mr. Do! (Dig-Dug knock-off, and you could get a "diamond" at random that would give you a free credit...this is a fairly obscure one)

The original "Star Wars" game was pretty sweet, too. Blowing up the Death Star will NEVER get old.

I think I stopped playing coin-ops around 1990. These were some of my favs. There were probably others but I've forgotten them.

    NARC
    Rampage
    Double Dragon
    Gauntlet
    After Burner
    Outrun
    Bubble Bobble
    Chase HQ
    Operation Wolf

House of the Dead. The only reason I don't buy one is because you have to be over 18 to own and operate a "heavy machine of enertainment(Read arcade machine)" in the good state of Texas.

The original Star Wars Arcade game. Must have been one of the first 3D games.

It will probably look ridiculous if you see it now, but back then it made you Luke Skywalker for 5 minutes.

I think he is referring to the old school version with the wire frame graphics. No DV in that one.

    I used to love:

    Robotron
    Phoenix
    Discs of Tron

now I have them all on EMU. :)

The classics of TMNT, X-Men, and the Simpsons. Plus I'm a fan of the Silent Scope series.

...well, the first arcade game i ever played was "Centipede" so it's always held a special place in my heart..

    1. "Aliens" still the most thrilling arcade experience i've had. I was in heaven when i found it at MAME. "This time: It's WAR!"

    2. "Street Fighter 2"- give me Chun-Li, and i'll win this tournament.

    3. "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles": awesome game. "Turtle Power!"

    4. "Gauntlet". The original. "Green Elf is about to die."

    5. "Bubble Bobble": I love this game.

    6. "Afterburner": the full-cockpit edition was pretty darned cool.

    7. "Super Offroad": I was King. I actually played this game so much i BROKE THE MACHINE.

    8. "Mortal Kombat": really the last great arcade game.

    9. "SMASH tv": "BIG MONEY! BIG PRIZES! I LOVE IT!"

    10. "Michael Jackson's Moonwalker": Hey, it was a cool game, alright?

720 I'd have to say is far and away my favorite coin-op of all time.

I also put way too many quarters into those old laser disc games; Dragon's Lair, Space Ace and the like.
