    Another post quicker than I thought:D ......

After the Padawan escorted Anakin out, Master Chas-Anna sensed the weariness in Obi-wan, she came around placing her hand on his shoulder. That gesture was too much for Obi-wan, and he lowered his head. She could see tears running down his face. She was mortified by the young mans state and it brought back memories of the last time she had seen him like this?

(It was when his Master had pushed him away after a close friend of his Master Tahl had been killed, at the time he had blamed Obi-wan for hindering him, in her rescue. That was six years ago and it nearly tore Obi-wan apart. Luckily Qui-Gon came to his senses and did everything he could to put things right between them. Gradually their relationship improved into the solid partnership it was now.

Before that there was the time that Obi-wan was left behind on Ventura 11 and it was three weeks before Qui-Gon rescued him, and the fifteen year old boy was convinced by his jailers that Qui-Gon had sold Obi-Wan to them. It took many weeks before Qui-Gon could convince Obi-wan that it wasn?t true.

The time before those Obi-wan was only twelve and he had just been made Qui-Gon?s apprentice. He was filled with such hope for the future, and then Xanatos appeared and Qui-Gon sought to repudiate Obi-wan in favour of Xanatos. But it turned out Xanatos was only misleading Qui-Gon just to hurt him. Qui-Gon could not get over the fact that Xanatos no longer wanted to be his apprentice, he had begged Xanatos to come back to him and had promised in front of Obi-wan that he would send Obi-wan back to the temple if Xani would return as his apprentice. Apparently Xanatos just laughed at him and had turned to Obi-wan and said ?See how committed he is to your training kid, you will never be able to trust him?
Each time Qui-Gon had done something to make the boy turn to tears, it was Chas-Anna who comforted him.)

So here she was once again only the boy was a young man, and was almost a Knight, and yet he was in tears.

?Come child sit with me?. tell me what?s wrong? she motioned to the couch. Obi-wan sat down and wiped his eyes on his sleeve. He gazed into her eyes and said. ?I?m not you know, but I feel like one at this moment?

She looked at him quizzically. ?Not what Obi-wan??

?A child? he whispered. She smiled and he continued.

?Master Qui-Gon has done it again, only this time it wasn?t Xanatos, he has repudiated me for Anakin?

    ?What!? she gasped.

Obi-wan filled her in on the story and by the time he had finished he was leaning back against the couch with his red puffy eyes closed. Master Chas-Anna was astounded; the last time Obi-wan had been on crèche duty he seemed so happy, and confident. He chatted about his first Solo mission, and how Qui-Gon had complimented him on a job well done. It appeared to her that he was almost ready to take the next step into Knighthood, he was confident in his place, and he was filled with anticipation of the future.

?I am sure the council will sort this all out Obi-wan, they will not let Qui-Gon do this to you, they all know of your commitment and your value to the Jedi Order. Whether Qui-Gon wants to or not they will not allow him to repudiate you so close to your trials.? She believed what she was saying was true, yet realised that it was no consolation to this fine young man who had given everything to become the perfect Padawan, if there was such a being she knew Obi-wan was the closest to it.

?How can I continue with him?. even if he does change his mind,?. you should have heard him, it was like he was possessed by something which made him say those things, he didn?t even care that he distressed the boy that he would give me away for.

Anakin is so confused, he was a slave all his life and his Mother loved him unconditionally, she gave him up so he would have a better life one free from slavery. he explained.

?Now he is lost, and far from his Mothers warm embrace?.. he has no friends?. the council believe him to old to train,

Thank the Force for Chas-Anna! At least she was able to comfort Obi-Wan and will probably be able to comfort Anakin.

Qui is getting in deeper and deeper.

    Darth_Kripp Thank you [:D]
I am sure the Sith is happy with his handywork. Qui-Gon finds it easy to distress everyone. Time will tell how he will get out of this situation though[face_devil]

KELIA I have used Chas-Anna my OC in a couple of stories I am beginning to like her so I will use her again.[face_thinking]

Yes Qui-Gon can dig his own grave very easily.

Perhaps the dark force user pushed into Qui-Gon something that makes him confused and feeling off.

Qui-Gon was pacing back and forth in the reception room; his thoughts were on his apprentice. (He must realise I am right) He walked over to the window and rested his head on the cool glass. The buzzing noise in his head was turning into a headache. (I have such a headache) he thought rubbing his temples. Abruptly a vision of a past experience invaded his thoughts. ?What is wrong with me why do I keep thinking of him? I must concentrate on the here and now, and banish those thoughts, and leave them in the past, only the present matters only Obi-Wan matters? He mumbled.

He went to the fresher and doused himself with water to clear his head, allowing the cool water to trickle down his face it helped momentarily, and he raised his shields so the Councillors wouldn?t detect his disorientation. It wouldn?t look good for a seasoned Master to fall apart when he was discussing the future of the Jedi. As soon as he had raised his shields he was called back in to the chambers, and he walked to the middle of the room glancing around at the members of the Council waiting them to speak.

Mace was the first to speak. ?Qui-Gon your actions here today have been disrespectful and damaging to your apprentice, and we as the controlling body of the order are appalled by your conduct. In the past you have been intractable in your views of our abilities and were determined to undermine our authority on many occasions. However we cannot abide your behaviour in this instance and therefore we censure you?

?I do not understand what you mean by censure?. all I said was that Obi-Wan is ready.
?You all disagreed with me and I was stunned that you couldn?t see what I can see, I didn?t mean to loose my temper and I certainly didn?t mean that I will dismiss my Padawan, that is the furthest thing from my mind I was just making you see how important the boy is and how vital that his training begins immediately. He is considerably talented in the force and to wait for any length of time before his training begins may have negative effects on the Jedi. I was just pushing my point that Obi-Wan is ready for this.? he stated.

?Funny way of showing it, you have Qui-Gon? Yoda said. ?Remember I do that thought Xanatos was ready to be Knighted you did?wrong you were. Almost turned to the Dark side he did! Yoda reminded Qui-Gon of his former Padawan.

?Xanatos betrayed me and he tried to turn Obi-Wan against me?how dare you compare them. Xanatos is a failure?.and you should have nothing to do with him. Qui-Gon was loosing control and his shields began to collapse. ?Obi-Wan will not fail?you must keep Xanatos away from him!? He yelled.

?You? have failed him Qui-Gon, not Xanatos!? Master Plo Koon bellowed just as he felt Qui-Gon?s confusion and shields collapse and he waved his hand at Qui-Gon. ?Something is wrong with Qui-Gon!?

Qui-Gon staggered and shook his head. ?What?. did you say?... Not Xanatos!??.I-I feel? strange, where is my Padawan where?. is ?.Obi-wan, I-I must speak with him?? he questioned them just as he began to collapse.

After Qui-Gon?s earlier display the Councillors were sceptical about this sudden confusion and collapse.
His Aura had abruptly dimmed, and they sensed an increase in his temperature, he also appeared fatigued, and he began to shake. They called for the healers and by the time they arrived Qui-Gon was unconscious. So he was taken down to the ward for an examination. The Council was astonished that he deteriorated so quickly and assumed that Qui-Gon had over taxed himself and because of his supposed find of the Chosen One, he had neglected to look after himself.

Even Obi-wan had voiced his worries that neither of them were rested enough from their last mission to be heading out for a new mission, the Council had noted his concerns, yet nevertheless they had been sent on the mission anyway, and then Obi-wan had not seen Qui-Gon much, after he fought the cloaked being in the desert. Qui-Gon had left Obi-Wan in charge of looking after Anakin whilst they were on board the ship.

    ooo

The next day Obi-wan, who had been given an apartment in the Knights wing of the Temple, woke up to his com unit beeping. As he looked at the messages he started to realise just how many friends he had in the Temple. There were forty messages all from friends, acquaintances, and other Masters and Knights, all congratulating him on his rise to Knight hood, and all inviting him to the cafeteria for a celebration drink.

A slight smile flittered across his face for just a moment and then he thought of his Master? or former Master now. (No message from him, then again why would there be?.. he couldn?t get rid of me quick enough for his liking).

As Obi-Wan wandered around the empty apartment he realised he had no clothes other than what he had been wearing last night and no food in the cupboards. So he decided to go to the supply stores and pick up the items he required.

He contemplated going to his old apartment to collect his belongings, but he didn?t want to see Qui-Gon until he got his emotions under control. So after putting the food away and hanging up his new clothes, he had a shower and got dressed.

He arrived at the cafeteria and was surprised as he walked in. At least a hundred Jedi of all ages began to clap in recognition of his achievement. Obi-wan blushed, however he didn?t have time to worry about the colour of his face as he was quickly surrounded by his friends and they picked him up and took him to his table.

Anakin was there and as Obi-wan sat down he realised he had forgotten all about Anakin last night. ?Anakin it is good to see you, I wish to apologise to you. I am sorry I did not come back to see you yesterday some things happened last night and I needed time to meditate, can you forgive me?? he asked.
Anakin glared at him, and then broke into a wonderful bright smile. ?Its Ok Obi-Wan,?Master Chas-Anna told me what happened to you in the Council chambers, and that?s just so ?wizard.? ?.Do I have to call you Knight Kenobi now, or can I still call you Obi-wan??

Obi-wan rubbed his chin ?ummm!.... I suppose you could still call me Obi-wan when we are together, but I am a Knight now and if you are going to be a Padawan?.. then when you are with your Master or with other Masters you should call me Knight Kenobi?. Ok Anakin??

Anakin scrunched his face ?Ok?.. just as long as I?m not Qui-Gon?s Padawan? he said as he stuffed some cake into his mouth. Obi-wan thought better of bringing up the subject now, so he left that conversation for the Council?.....

Once Qui-Gon had been taken to the healers they took blood samples and ran some test?s. The healer thought it was wise to keep Qui-Gon sedated until the next morning. Nevertheless by the morning Qui-Gon was steadily getting worse and he was ranting and raving about how he had been betrayed. The Master healer was concerned that maybe Qui-Gon had contracted some disease of unknown origins, as his behaviour was bordering on aggressive delirium. The healer called Master Yoda and Master Windu to come and check on Qui-Gon because in his moments of sanity, he was insisting that he be signed out of the healers.

Several hours passed and Qui-Gon was getting restless and indicated to the healer that he was fine and needed to speak to his apprentice.
?I am sorry Qui-Gon but Master Windu said you are to remain here until they come to see you? the Healer explained.
?Well it has been several hours, what is so important that they cannot come right away, I have to check on my apprentice? he snapped.

?I believe it is a Knighting celebration in the Cafeteria they are attending, they shouldn?t be long now? the healer stated.

Qui-Gon mumbled something and then lay down on the bed. The healer was stunned at Qui-Gon?s ramblings, he wasn?t sure if he heard what he thought he heard?.. if so it was bizarre?. and he contemplated it (Qui-Gon didn?t say what I

I love how the other Jedi applauded Obi-Wan on becoming a Knight. Obviously they think he's worthy.

It's good to see him apologize to Anakin for neglecting him the night before. At least he's thinking about someone else's feelings beside himself.

Oh my, Qui is going out of his mind. It should be interesting to see what happens when he finds Obi-Wan.

    great update
