I'm halfway through Star Wars Galaxies: The Ruins of Dantooine. It's about what you'd expect from a book based on the game. (Although I've never played the game.)

i switched from lost tales to The Silmarillion. since tales refers back to The Silmarillion i figured i should have more background before delving into what i like to think of as Tolkien Deleted Scenes (tm).

"Let's Learn Hiragana." The Japanese seemed to almost go out of their way when devising their language/alphabets.

Just finished the Hidden Land by Pamela Dean, really chomping at the bit to get the last of the triology, The Whim of Dragons. Nothing epic, but I want to see what happens next.

Sorry I got behind, since my last post...

    Shadows of the Empire (re-read)
    Heir to the Empire (re-read)
    Dark Force (re-read)
The Last Command- what I'm reading now

I am avoiding the new Dark Tower book for some reason, hence all the SW re-reads

Dashiell Hammett's "The Thin Man." It's a damn good crime story that was made into an even better movie.

For anyone who's interested, Border's Books is (or at least was) having a storewide sale on paperbacks: buy three, get the fourth for free. It's a great opportunity to fill in the blanks on your favorite series and/or authors.

Well, I've started re-reading Specter of the Past for Errant Venture this month... apart from that, I'm contemplating The Da Vinci Code, if only because it's such a hot seller and everyone I know who's read it enjoyed it. *shrug*

Cooking the zen way! it's a cook book that takes a look at cooking in new way. Most wester food is not very zen but this book takes western food and turns it in to zen cooking. Kind of cool.
