Lullabies to Paradise, Queens of the Stone Age (it was on sale and I didn't have it, so why not I thought)

Only NOW you get those Radiohead albums? Tsk tsk... :p

My most recent record purchases were 'Mermaid Avenue Vol 1' but Billy Bragg and Wilco and '99 Red Balloons' by Nina. :p

It's likely I'll be getting that one too this week. Let me know if it's any good, Deto. The snippets I've heard on JJJ have me interested so far.

It's different to what they recorded on Hot Fuss, but I really like it. It's more anthemic (in parts) and ballad in others, rather than the straight alternate rock of the previous record. :)

But I think it's great. Some of their b-sides are awesome, too, such as The Ballad of Michael Valentine, Under the Gun, Replaceable, and Change Your Mind. That is, of course, if you have access to Limewire or something similar...

I picked up Cut Chemist "The Audience is Listening." Meh. And DJ Shadow, the outsider, which I haven't listened to yet.

They released a special edition of Hot Fuss locally that had all but Replaceable on it. I'm off to get Sam's Town, Jet's new one and, for a bit of fun, Weird Al's new album too!

Meh? Cut Chemist MEH? I thought it was great, really interesting to listen to. What did you think of J5's new album? (if you've already commented, forgive me) I thought 'Audience' was a hell of a lot better than J5, which makes me sad as I really like Numark.

As for 'The Outsider', I'm forcing myself to listen to it at the moment, in the hope that it'll grow on me...the three tracks I saw live (no idea what they were, but two had a British singer and one had Lateef) were fairly good, but I'm joining the ranks of the 'ain't nothing like his oldies' army. I want to be dazzled, I really do. 'This Time' is as close as I get to liking it.

In buying news: I snatched up a Tori Amos best of and Jackson Five best of. [face_dancing]

Well, on the Outsider - nah, it does NOTHING for me so far. I mean, Shadow has given us an awesome live set - best I've ever seen - and some tracks like "Midnite in a Perfect World", so the crap that is Outsider is unforgivable.

And even the song I wasn't crazy about - Six Days - has become indispensible to me after seeing Wong Kar-Wai's video for it. =P~

Cut Chemist - yep, meh. It is just nowhere near as good as you'd expect from the guy behind Brainfreeze etc. AMG raved about it, compared it favourable to Endtroducing, and I just can't get into it.
