Superb ending to a wonderful story!

What a lovely, perfect (yet heartbreaking) ending! I had tears in my eyes reading it. Although I had kind of hoped for a happier ending for Vader/Anakin (you know I adore "Anakin survives" stories), you did a fantastic job of weaving your story into the canon version.

I especially love the epilogue because you let us know Mara's fate and I, too, think it's a more believable reason for her to desire vengeance against Luke.

I do hope you'll both write lots more because I've really enjoyed this one!

Kristeh: Yeah, it's a lot more believable than Zahn's "YOU MUST KILL LUKE SKYWALKER" message to Mara in HTTE. Then he wrote himself into a corner and we end up with clones. I like Zahn, don't get me wrong, but I like this a lot better. It's much more plausible.

Any way we can make this canon?

 

Fantastic story! I loved it so much! Especially liked the description of the Vader-Mara relationship, and I must tell you write the Sith very well

I agree it was very believable, realistic.

And though I also wished to see a different ending ( simply don't like when Lord Vader dies), you did an awesome job tiding EU and OT together!

 

kristeh: Thank you so much! One of our hopes for this story was/is that people could watch the OT and "see" WCR happening behind the scenes, and we breathe a sigh of relief everytime someone confirms that we accomplished that. The ending depressed us, too. (See note below.)

A/N: We are toying with the idea of writing a short AU ?sequel? where Anakin lives post-ROTJ. Nothing angsty. Just for fun. When/if it happens, we will post it in Beyond the Saga under our new combined screen name, and we'll put a link in this thread as well.

I'm assuming part of the AU is the whole fact that Mara already knows that Vader was Luke's father right? So what i'm interested in seeing is how she changes her mind in 'your' world. Especially since what changes her mind in TLC about The Last Command was the revelation by the Noghori about Luke's ancestry.
