Fellow Victorians, which Cinema will you view EPIII at? For me it will be Chadstone Hoyts, and at some point there will be a Village Midvalley 8 screening as well for nostalgia of it all.

BTW, is there a fully digital cinema in Melbourne?

AFAIK, there is no digital projection cinema in Melbourne, but I don't know that for certain. The only digital cinema I know of in Australia is at Hoyts Fox Studios in Sydney.

    and ACMI at Federation Square.

for the true cinematic experience...try VMAX at KNOX. :) (shameless plug)

Largest screen for blockbuster movies in the southern hemisphere with THX digital sound. :)

Do we know what the differences between the celluloid and digital release of EIII will be yet? I recall seeing a news item at TFN indicating that the two will be different in some ways - most probably small ways though.

I will try and confirm if there is a fully digital cinema in VIC with Village and Hoyts. VMAX at Knox -I have never been there, it's massive huh? I may try it. Village Southland have a proverbial 12 incher of a screen also.

    Regards

I will be at the City Hoyts.

I wanted to go to Knox but my friends seem to think the city would be better.

Aha, Jedi_Jess, you must live not far from me(!) - Century City Walk is where my brother and I walk over to to see most movies. In fact, I think I lost my scarf there... if you see a black, woolen scarf, let me know, wot. ;)

However, KNOX at midnight for mee! :D I need to find my lightsabre, methinks.

They will see us waving from such great heights,
    'come down now', they'll say...
but everything looks perfect from far away...
    'come down now'...but we'll stay.

I saw it last night (11 pm session) at Hoyts Chadstone. I was amazed that the only person who was remotely close to 'dressing up' for the event was some chap in a Darth Vader t-shirt. Maybe I missed the others, but when I saw LOTR a few days after opening there were still people made up for the event.

I love your taste in music PoT :)

And I went to bogan central at Norflands and saw two Jedi (both wearing thongs with their robes...nice touch) and a kid dressed up at Darth Vader.

I wore my tshirt that said 'rebel scum' which got a laugh from the ticket guy, who told me to freeze.

I am dressing up tonight (friday) at Southland, but I don't have much hope that there will be others also dressed up. I hope I don't feel like too much of an idiot...

Not many dressed up at Glen Waverly...
    A lot of lightsabres though

There was someone however, dressed like the great one George Lucas mask and all. That impressed me

Crown was close to pathetic. I counted 2 dudes that were dressed up in blankets and what looked like curtains (although one of the dudes had a really cool lightsaber), and one kid that was there as Darth (kudos to him!). Not much excitement in the theatre either, I remember seeing Ep2 and we had people cheering and LingOL for Yoda and Anakin and all that jazz... stupid Crown yuppies. Didn't see you guys there.... and admitedly, I forgot to look.

lots and lots of us dressed up in SA..Adelaide. there's photos on the newsphotos.com site (no, I don't have the proper link, sorry) :)

I'm still a bit bummed that we missed out on tickets for the showing of the movie with everyone from Force IV..I was really looking forward to that, but there was an email stuff up and we didn't know we didn't have tickets til we got to Melbourne...

still had a blast though. Premiere night here was incredible. About 200 people in various costumes - and that was one cinema alone!!
    :D
