I prefer Adept because they don't have to abide by the stupid jedi code. :p

I prefer the scoundrel myself. There's something about a good line of crap I just love. Not to mention the extra skill points always help.

What can I say, I normally multiclass, usually Soldier/Scoundrel. I can't help it, it works out well as a John Woo action hero type character. I did once play as a Force Adept, but that was my first game and a newbie really doen't need to play any Force-user (but try explaining that to someone who's hell bent on playing one). I despise Jedi. Too much like paladins or those damnable elves in D&D (at least the way most people play them). "Sorry, but all life is not sacred and trees don't hug back, so why bother you Barry Manilow loving sissy?" (my popular retort to anyone who wants to play an elf/paladin/Jedi)

I prefer the Scout as a starting class. Fringers are good also.
I actually prefer not to be the best fighter in a group, but rather the observant quick-thinking type who's sorf of the back bone of the team.

So my vote goes to the scout.

I have fun fixing things and breaking security that stumps the other players because they've invested so much into rump-kicking or Force skills that they don't have any time or balance to have tech skills.

I also prefer to play force-dead characters.

If you take the cosmoplitan (sp?) feat from the Hero's guide you can do that with a soldier.

Soldier for me. I like it because it can easily multi-class into just about anything and still kick ass.

Normally I go for Scoundrel or Soldier, purely because they're pretty capable fighters and because they provide big benefits in a particular area (soldiers for feats, scoundrels for skills). But actually I've been running a Noble (not very high level right now) and its actually been kinda exciting. I want to prestige class him as priest eventually. He's a pretty cool little guy, lots of fun to do. Its more interesting because I have to find ways for him to get involved other than fighting, because hes incredibly poor in battle.

I've never seen anyone pull of the priest class. You'll have to tell us how it goes.

I'd have to go with Tech Specialist. I love it becuase I'm not much help once it comes to battle but I more than helpful anywhere else. Of course my Kushiban character has obtained his Slicer (Hero's Guide) prestige class, and so is more of a hacker than anything else, but still very helpful. Plus in the Old Republic the computer terminals could explode, so my character is a little helpful in combat.

Hey my vote is for the Jedi Consular but I think it got mixed up with the sentinel so that is why I voted for it. :)

Yes, adept. Adepts are neither Sith nor Jedi, so no rules. I also have a scout Wookie who is slightly neurotic for when I'm feeling like the obnoxious, blow-everything-up-death guy
