You want the actual artwork or are you just looking for comics with similar styles?

Got The Ultimates: Super-Human. My first time buying a superhero comic, despite watching the shows and movies of different characters for years. Well, I can easily see why Ultimates is Marvel's bestselling title. I [face_love] this TPB so much.

I'm looking for the same artwork as Best Blades, the Jedi: Yoda double issue, yes. It's breathtaking. Any suggestions?

If any of the other Ultimate Marvel books are even a fraction of the quality of Super-Human I'll be enjoying myself. I hear the DC stuff has been brillant as of late.

DC has been great, but the problem there is it all builds on other DC stuff. Those who started reading DC three years ago and picked up Crisis tie-ins as they came, we're having a blast. It's quite possibly the largest crossover in fictional history - a dozen books a week all tying in to one story, for three years. And if you're new to it, or just reading the core things, you're unfortunately missing out on things. Still great, but as great.

Ugh, I don't like the laundry lists.

    Anyhow...

DMZ: Great stuff. I think that this series is finally developing a voice of its own, and it's a good one. The end of this issue was very nice.

Conan: Book of Thoth: This was pretty good. Not great. The art kept it from being great. But otherwise, this was a good read on its own.

My keyboard is is dying, so I'll finish later.

I really didn't like Nightwing #118. It failed me in three different ways.

Firstly, it undid the ending of Nightwing #117. That was a great way to end things, and then this comes along and its back to the previous status quo. Secondly, the art didn't do anything for me. And thirdly, the story just wasn't very interesting to me. All the material was there for things to be interesting, but it just didn't work in my opinion.

Teen Titans Annual #1 was great. The Conner/Cassie stuff was great - interesting last two scenes there - but the highlight for me was Tim. First, talking to Lex Luthor like an equal and getting respect from the bald guy, and then pointing a finger at Superman, and then ordering around just about all the major DCU heroes. I've got to say, it was great stuff, with great art too. Not the highlight of the week, though most weeks this would have been #1 for me.

Ultimate X-Men #68 was good, but not great. It feels like a filler issue, mostly just passing time and telling the story of the Phoenix. The last scene was kind of neat, so was the history of the Phoenix, but overall this fell a little flat. Not enough happened, action wise or character developement wise. Too many issues like this and I'll leave; I want issues like the first in this arc.

Birds of Prey #92 has a very interesting addition to the team in "The Jade Canary". The issue is almost worth picking up just for her introduction. And it's definitely worth picking up for what she does after she shows up. Heh. I suppose that I should have seen that one coming.

Ultimate Extinction #3 was a let down. I don't like the art, and this story just doesn't seem interesting. The whole trilogy has been one good idea after another, with slow moving and poor execution. Hopefully, things will pick up in the last three issues. But I'm not holding my breath.

I feel the same way about Nightwing.

That being said I will continue to pick it up simply to find out how Dick screwed up this time, and I like Jason.

I hope Jason replaces Dick as Nightwing, at least he's cooler and adding to the costume...

Oh, by the way: Superman #650 was the best comic of the week. Bar none. By a long shot.

I say this as someone who is not a Superman fan, who picked it up on a whim. This was quite honestly the first Superman comic I've ever really loved. I could spoil things about the issue, but I won't. I'll just say: if you have any love at all for Superhero comics, pick it up. If Infinite Crisis has scared you off, pick it up. This is pure awesomeness, one of my favorite single issues of any comic ever. If the rest of this arc holds to the promise of the first issue, I'm going to be a very happy panda.

Picked Conan #26. I can say this wasn't bad but is the first of this series that did not thrill me. Is Nord not going to be the artist anymore? This Truman guy is a good artist but Nord's style was far better and was a key element for this book.

    I am very lost...

Thats what we have 52 for.

Speaking of 52 DC confirmed that it would offer a subscription for $100.00. I know some people were getting that from their local comic store anyways but now you can get it straight from DC.

For me it was the complete opposite, I thought the art was poor (I've certainly seen better), the entire ordeal left me complete uninterested in the characters...especially Conner/Cassie and the last scenes had me rolling my eyes :)

The answer to Dick's status can be found in IC#4, #650 takes place right between the pages of that issue. Jason issue is answered in Nightwing #118 to spare you reading a bad comic: Jason is alive and posing as Nightwing in New York. Same with Dick, except he still seem to suck at the super hero thing in his own comic and his new costume is awful.

My pull list and what I think at this point:

Batman #651: Looking forward to this, because I want to see how the Batman OYL will go. So far, it's second only to the Superman OYL.

Catwoman #53: Really interested to see Selina's situation.

Loveless #5: Still not sure about this comic. It has some great moments, but there's a lot talking heads with nothing to say.

Manhunter #20: I'm considering dropping this. Things fell off from the original two arcs on this title, and if it doesn't really pick up soon I'll drop it.

Robin #148: This is a must-get for me. I want to see where Tim is and what he's doing.

Noble Causes #18: This continues to be one of the most fun comics out there. Looking forward to it.

Amazing Spider-Man #530: Might not pick this one up. Marvel Civil War doesn't interest me.

New Avengers #17: The last issue was interesting, and this title keeps a fairly high standard. So, this I'll be getting for sure.

Squadron Supreme #1: Though the move from MAX makes me sad, I hope that this can keep up its high standards.

Supreme Power Hyperion #5: I'm spoiled by things released already. But I'll get it anyhow.

Ultimate Fantastic Four #28: A must have IMO.
