I had a sketchy idea about an Amish style village who have a "red harvest" where they take in crops and slaughter animals, but, if cut off or near-starved by harsh weather - harsh winter for example - have a 'Blue Harvest' where the adolescents of the community are culled for meat. My idea is a kind of take on the Wicker Man where a private-eye investigates youths disappearing in the village, only to be snowed in and find himself fighting for his life.
    Any other ideas?

Something along the lines of Robert Redford's the Milagro Beanfield War.

A strong statement in the tradition of many liberal/populist Hollywood films about the plight of non-unionized underpaid immigrant workers who harvest blueberries. The heart-rending tale of the reluctant leader who rises to the top to lead his oppressed people to demand fair wages, health benefits and
housing for the blueberry pickers, the noble hard-working people whose labor insures we can all order blueberry pancakes for breakfast at Denny's.

A labor tale with a human face. With some blue along the lips.

Could the oppressed labor leader scream "freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedooooooom!" at some point during the movie?
