New books of poetry by Charles Simic and Yves Bonnefoy, Agape Agape by William Gaddis, two new shirts and two new ties that my dad supposedly coordinated with all my suits and sport coats so they can be combined in a variety of ways, and a couple of stocking stuffer knick-knacks.

About the coolest thing to happen today though was that I finally opened up a record of contemporary pieces by Pierre Boulez and Oliver Messiaen that I bought out of the 99 cents bin at a local record store only to find that wedged inside the booklet was what looks like an admissions ticket to a museum event from the 60s or 70s with Boulez's autograph and a handwritten note on the backside.

Very nice stuff indeed, how long does the shipping take and do you always get what you ordered?

 

I've only bought in store or had relatives pick shirts up for me. But you save AU $60 on what DJs charge per shirt and they are highly reputable so I would not doubt the accuracy of your order. But whether they ship orders by air or by sea I don't know; I do know Pink always gets compliments.

I got two kindle books. To Be or Not to Be and Zeus Grants Stupid Wishes. Delightful.

 

My wife had given me a Nook Color a few years back for Christmas (back when they were still fairly expensive). I think I had a crummy smart phone back then, so I took my Nook everywhere and used it for most of my Internet needs (feeding off my phone's mobile hot spot feature). Now that I have a decent smart phone, I have no idea how I was able to stand typing/posting on that thing.

I don't use my Nook for much anymore except for reading. The device itself is still going strong, though sometimes I do get Kindle envy whenever I'm reading in a brightly lit room (or, ugh, under sunlight).
