That is of course, assuming you can drive ;)

I've been driving my 1988 Subaru GL for about a year now. It's not too quick, but in great condition at only 48K miles. It's durable and has gotten me through everything so far.

I maxed it out on the way back from the Cape at 95 MPH. Considering it only has 93 horses, I think that's pretty good :D

How bout the rest of you?

I will never own a car. Cars are evil. and if I do get one, it will not run on gas.

It is a beast, Roy. :)

I used to have a '90 Chevy Cavalier, and it was a beast (although a lesser one than Roy's) and quite a beater. I loved that car. Too bad I sold it to my dad so I could get a computer, but who needs a car in Boston?

I was twenty-four before I got my license, and I never really missed it (finally got it mainly because I was sick of having to produce a purseful of paper every time someone wanted an ID; I suppose it was a good thing during my brief stint in Albuquerque, where not driving would have been an insuperable handicap). At any rate, it was a blue Spectrum. Here in Boston, I trade the car key for a T pass.

A '97 Satarn SL2. Pretty nice, considering it was my sunday driving grandpa's before I started usin' it. Gets great mileage and it is perfect for a first car. That and I didn't pay a penny for it!

I bought a 2001 Ford F-150 last April. It's the SWEETEST vehicle I've ever driven (barring some of the buses up here at UNH). ;) Standard trannie, standard cab, 4x4, V6, eight-foot bed, five-speed...what more could anyone ask???

In case you're wondering, my all-time low gas mileage was 17 mpg, all-time high was 24. Not bad at all for a full-size pickup. But a diesel F-250 would kick big-time ass if I could find one. ;)

I would use public transportation in a heartbeat, though, if only it ran anywhere near here...

Outside of German engineering, Japanese cars are the best. I'd much rather spend a little more money to get a Japanese car then a cheaper, American model. They're much more durable.

That's just my view on things of course.

Subaru's rock too! Best cars from the land of the rising microchip!
