In L.A.? The same as always.

... I far prefer cold weather and I almost never get any.

 

I live in Indiana. "Normal" weather patterns don't exist.

 

Long, cold spring. Hot summer. Long, warm autumn. Forcasts say very cold winter.

 

There is no such thing as "normal" weather.

Yet ... I will say Normal.

"Normal" means compared to other years.

It's been much hotter than usual for me. Last winter, we had a brief spell when it was actually in the 70s (right after an ice storm that shut down campus Oh, Indiana). Summer was also much hotter than usual (it reach more than 100 F far too often and was usually in the high 90s). The crazy heat extended into October; it was in the 80s last week, when the beginning of October is usually jacket weather. It only got cold this week, actually.

 

The Wet Coast has no normal.

 

It has been everywhere.

 

It's a conspiracy...

 

While I think it's been pretty normal out here in California, my boss would say "all over the place." (And I'm sick of people complaining about rain, but that's part and parcel with working in a doctor's office. Everybody complains about the rain.)

 

Spring was sunny and warm

Normal: either blazing hot and freezing cold, depending on which of the two seasons it is.

 

Far hotter than usual, almost five degrees above average where I live.

 

SF; same as it ever was.

 

In Germany the weather is insane. o_o

Rain, sun, rain, sun, cold, hot, ice, hot, freezing, warm, rain, sun.

Urgh.

 

This 20011 weather is strange, very strange.

 

We have had very little snow so far. I want a white Christmas!

 

It's far from normal weather for this time of year, compared to fifteen or twenty years ago.

 

I thought about voting "Hotter than usual" (which is true, especially for the latter half of the year), but then thinking back to the beginning of the year's back and forth (SNOW! then no snow, then SNOW! then no snow, then very warm phase, then "we're in April, why is it snowing again?"). So I put "all over the place"; however, "cold months are colder than usual and the hot months are hotter than usual" would be more accurate.

 

It's still much warmer than usual here
