After episode 3 Lucas has said that's it for Star Wars, he's done. So, what will he do after Star Wars?

i would personally like a remake of THX-1138, or maybe for Lucas to write/direct other orignal projects.

I'd like to see Lucas have a shot at Cervantes' Don Quixote. Since Orson Welles never really got it made, GL could have a shot.

I miss Kubrick :( I'd love to see a fully-realized, epic Napolean film.

After Star Wars, I want Lucas to start on INDY 4 right away, then he can relax and just produce for a while - he deserves a break considering how long he has spent on the prequels. (almost 10 years [face_shocked])

Probably Indy 4, but he also mentioned that he enjoyed doing TV with the Young Indiana Jones series, so maybe he'll go back to doing TV.

From what I read somewhere, I'll have to look through all my magazines... He said that after Ep3 he wanted to go and do TV again. SO I think he'll take a break, start the producing part and writing part of indy 4, then go to TV stuff... honestly I would SW and Indy, he's a great writer and director, it would be nice for him to get away from the repetitive part of the last 25 years and probably be enjoyable for him.

Getting even fatter. Then he'll probably produce some other projects that no one will remember long after he's gone. SW is ALL he will ever be remembered for. I love SW, but as an artist, it must be dissapointing for him to be remembered for only one piece of his work.

    Ferel-

Don't forget Indy. He's remembered for that. And for his technological innovations like ILM, THX and probably a few years from now, digital projection

Not really, as most artist never reach this level of recognition and profitability. He's should be pretty proud of what he's accomplished.

Lucas will keep pushing for advances in cinema. He's made great contributions to special effects via ILM, and theater sound. I hope he keeps pushing for digital cinema.

TV projects will be nice, butI hope he makes more movies. My wish would be more fantasy stuff, like Labyrinth and Willow, since we have few good movies of that genre (only LOTR)

Well, you have to realize that a lot of the advances in today's special effects and technology came about because of his influence. As some have mentioned, computer generated effects, advancement in sound and yes, eventually digital projections are all the cinematic offspring of Lucas.
While believing that Lucas is a one-name wonder can be an ideal theory to fall into, you'd have to imagine that bringing about modern effects and popcorn film is a worthy accomplishment.

Lucas has about 10 productive years left after EP 3. He's said he wants to do some t.v. spin offs of STAR WARS (a reality show with THE FETTS would be awesome!) and a few small, abstract movies along the lines of THX 1138. Whatever he does, I think he'll have earned it. Personally, I'd like to see him sit down and write a bio of what it was like to go from small filmmaker to a global kingpin who forced Hollywood to work on his rules.

More to the point, I wonder how Lucasfilm and ILM and Skywalker Sound will survive? Lucas has always said he didn't intend these entities to survive him, that they were created to serve his vision. Will he liquidate them over the years? Sell them off? I'd hate to see all the standards of quality that he's worked for over the years be handed over to someone who isn't as passionate and drive it into the ground.

I think after episode 3 Lucas will probably make two or three films from original ideas he's had over the last twenty years, and possibly have some kind of t.v. series. I also think that no matter what he says HE WILL MAKE MORE STAR WARS MOVIES. I think after episode 3 he'll be bored with star wars and want to do other things, but in a few years he'll get the bug again and do some more. I know he says that there will be no more but I never believe what he says. Lucas likes to be secretive about things and not give out the true facts/plans for the future.

The thing he's been saying the most is he has a lot of ideas for television. As for film, he says he wants to return to his dark, esoteric days. He said he has ideas that in his opinion are extremely uncommercial and he wonders if they'll even be released. I think he's just be modest there. They'll be released because he is George Lucas.

I'm looking forward to seeing just what else will come from the mind of George Lucas in the future. I think he's got at least twenty years left in his career after Ep 3 and Indy 4.

It would be cool to see him come up with another great creation like Star Wars and Indy. A new franchise type thing that someone else can direct so Lucas can have time to develope his other ideas. If EP3 and INDY 4 are not well recieved,he might just pack it in and call it a career. I think they will be great.
