Oregon What Do You Want Your Chapter Name To Be?

Any thoughts? Was this discussed at your last meeting? Will you be simply Portland Oregon Fan Force or were you thinking of another name? Post ideas here.

 

How about: "The best damn Fan Force. Period." Haha, a take off on "The Best Damn Sports Show. Period." I'm just kidding.

Uhh I think PDX Fan Force would be good enough, but any other suggestions would be great. Just nothing corny. I don't have any particular ideas here. Guys, gals?!

 

PDX fanforce is a good working name for now. We can't simply be "Portland fan force", cause we have several members outside of the city.

Perhaps we could find something that relates to our Oregon heritige. Perhaps something that ties the trees of Kasyyyk - the wookie homeworld - to our forests here? *shrug* First thing that came to mind. ^^;

PDX is airport-ese for Portland.

 

Yeah, PDX is generally Portland's Acronym. Portland State is referred to as PDX. Their website is http://www.pdx.edu.

 

^So how do you want your chapter to be listed on the Main page exactly? Should it read Portland PDX Fan Force? Portland PDX? Let me know the exact wording so we can get that done.

 

Portland State is referred to as PSU not as PDX. Anyway, I think it should be the Oregon FanForce. Portland is a bit too ego-centric for the people who don't live in Portland.

 

Well, that is true, but Oregon Fan Force? That only works until there is another Oregon chapter, and so far this really is the Portland Fan Force, but we welcome people from ALL over Oregon.

Eventually though, I see there being quite a few more chapters, and then we'll have to change our name. I am not saying that is bad. I am just pointing it out, playing Devil's Advocate here.

 

Well strilo, we refer to Portland State as PSU but as there already is a PSU (Pennsylvania State), its official acronym is PDX. Trust me, my dad teaches finance there.

 

Can we be OFF? Like Oregon Fan Force. That'd be cool!

 

LOL, OFF doesn't sound too bad until there is another fan force in Oregon. I don't see one coming for quite a while. I also think anything related to Oregon's natural resources would be good to make up a name like the trees JediWookie said or maybe something with Kamino for the rain, or even Mon Calamari(sp?) because of our Salmon. OFF is a neat acronym. I think it will work.

^ LOL! I like that one! I think the Tuscon Arizona FanForce is thinking of calling themselves the Tuscon Raiders (Pronounced like Tusken Raiders hehe).

 

I have nothing to add in the suggestion department as I'm not a Portland member

But I DO like clever names....like Tuscon Raiders.

Whoa I just had a thought. Rotj's Endor scences were filmed in Oregon. Anybody know whereabouts? any ideas about how to tie that in? (please no ewoks)

ROTJ's Endor scenes were not filmed in Oregon. They were filmed in Northern California in the Redwoods.
