What does Disney buy mean for the Fan Base

Lucas and company have been really good with the fans. Like letting Family Guy do Star Wars, working with Robot Chicken, and not getting all copyright crazy with Star Wars made fan videos and put them on youtube. Lucas has imbraced all this. I hope Diseny does also. I hate to see my videos taken off youtube cause someone used a Star Wars theme with out premission.

 

The great Ears are always watchful.

 

Hopefully good things...hopefully.
I admire Disney's initiative. They will revive a franchise. But if they revive it in a bad way...

Oh wait, that was the Star Wars hatedom, not fandom. Never mind.

 

Maybe, they will give some fresh blood, & ideas to push SW into the future...

 

What does Disney buy mean for the Fan Base?

It means that we are going to get at least three more Star Wars movies!!!

 

It means new things for the fans to enjoy but hopefully with the classic approach one needs for such a huge following.

 

Well I think the biggest thing for fans is the continuation of the Star Wars universe. Outside that, I don't see Disney being as loose with the rights as Lucas was, but that's my opinion.

 

Hopefully they are though...

 

more new great ideas to come.

 

1) I expect they won't be as free with the rights.

2) I expect them to attempt to respect EU, but be willing to reset if Arndt's vision is different.

3) I expect to see more animated series for Disney XD, I hope these are more in the vein of Clone Wars and not in the vein of some recent cartoons.

(Oh, and I expect Episodes VII-IX to be very well made, I won't make bets on one-offs just yet)

 

Here's an early draft from Toy Story 4:

INTERIOR - BONNIE'S ROOM

Woody and Buzz are on the floor near Bonnie's bed, discussing the new toys that Bonnie got for her birthday.

Woody: So, what do you think about those new toys that Bonnie got the other day?
Buzz: They seem kinda weird to me
Woody: I KNOW! I was playing monopoly with the blonde haired guy, and he kept waving his hand and saying "You are going to sell me Park Place"...why would I want to sell you Park Place when you already have Boardwalk?! Yeah, let me just give you the best monopoly in the whole game!
Buzz: You met the other one? The one with the deep voice...
Woody: I haven't met him. He seems to keep to himself. Someone has GOT to tell him that black it out this season.
Buzz: Hey, what's wrong with black? It goes with everything.
Woody: Yeah, it goes with everything...IF YOU WEAR IT WITH ANOTHER COLOR! But solid black? He's going to be burning up when summer gets here!

Darth Vader sneaks up behind them

Vader: So, we meet again, Buzz.
Buzz: Hey, Vader
Vader: I told you, it's LORD Vader!
Buzz: Well, SOOOORRY! LORD Vader!
Vader: Who do we have here?
Buzz: Lord Vader, Woody. Woody, Lord Vader
Woody: Good afternoon! I would like to formally welcome you to Bonnie's room! Now, let me just introduce you to everybod-
Vader: SILENCE!!

Woody and Buzz look at one another, each with a look of fright mixed with confusion

Vader: Now, Buzz, I will only ask you one more time. I saw that little girl put my Star Destroyer in that big, wooden box. Now, tell me what the pass code is to open that box! I need my Star Destroyer!
Buzz: Look Vader, I already told you. There is not pass code to the toy box! Bonnie just opens it up!
Vader: Well, since you are being uncooperative, there are other ways to convince you...

Darth Vader puts his thumb and index finger close together, in an attempt to put a force choke on Buzz. Woody and Buzz both stand there with puzzled looks on their faces, unaffected by Vader's attempt to get the information he needs.

Woody: (to Buzz) What is he doing?
Buzz: I...don't know
Woody: Well, somebody should tell him that he is waaaay outside pinching range

After a few seconds, Vader gives up trying to choke Buzz

Vader: (breathing heavily): There...must be a disturbance in the force on this planet. No matter, that pass code will be mine.

Vader turns around to walk away, and Luke Skywalker suddenly appears, brandishing his light sabre

Luke: Hello, father
Vader (pulling out light sabre): Hello, son
Luke: Why don't you give it up? You know that you can't win! The dark side will never prevail!
Vader: So, son...have you thought about my earlier offer? You can still join the dark side of the force, and together we can rule this...we can rule this...(turns back to Woody and Buzz). Say, what's this place called, anyway?
Woody and Buzz: A BEDROOM!
Vader: Together, we can rule this bedroom as father and son!
Luke: NEVER!

Luke charges Vader, and a dramatic light sabre battle ensues. Woody and Buzz watch the duel, in awe.

Woody: Whoa...way cool.
Buzz: I have GOT to get one of those light sword things!
Woody: You think they make holsters for those things?

no one will laugh anymore that i watch disney channel



so ha

 

It means, more action and more fun!

The saga isn't completed yet, Star Wars episode 7 in 2015!

 

The TRUE Emperor....

 

It means that our franchise is in good hands.
