ST What Does Episode 7 Need For it to be a Star Wars Movie

I have seen some talk about if episode 7 needs or doesn't need jedi or sith the empire the rebels certain planets or politics a dark tone a fun adventure? So my question is what does episode 7 need or not need for it to feel like star wars to you?

 

It needs so "20th Century Fox" logo at the very beginning….oh, wait…****!!!


EDIT: Seriously, though? I'm getting the Big 3 back, and the Millennium Falcon. I think I'm set.

 

1. Spaceships
2. Unique environments on at least one planet (Tatooine counts)
3. Lightsabers
4. The Force
5. Blasters
6. A big final battle

Anything else is just icing on the cake.

 

Force-users, Pilots, Smugglers, Bounty Hunters, Soldiers, droids, aliens. We need an ensemble cast. Force-users are important but they work best as part of a group.

 

Actually a good thread. So....

(1) Jedi and the Force (synonymous)
(2) Dark side users of some sort (not absolutely necessarily the Sith but most will tie the two together)
(3) The droid pair
(4) A Skywalker of some sort...down the road if they make Episodes 10-12 they can just have offspring of either Luke and/or Leia
(5) Space battles-they can get boring but they have to be there
(6) Lightsaber fights (kind of goes without saying)
(7) New planets with new terrains
(8) Personal, inner conflict for the main character(s) so we can get attached to them
(9) Opening crawl-probably should be #1 or #2
(10) Cool and interesting creatures

 

I always thought the space battles in star wars were great!

 

We need a couple space battles

 

The movie has to have exciting new planets, creatures, suits, weapons and ships for me.

 

1. Jedi/Sith

A Star Wars movie without Jedi/Sith is just another science fiction film in space. Its why I have no interest in seeing a Boba Fett spin off. "Dark side users", lame. I want to see masters of the dark side. Sith

2. Lightsabers......... A Star Wars movie without lightsabers is like the Jackson 5 without Michael. Kizz without Gene Simmons, the Catholic church without a pope

3. The Millennium Falcon

4. A space chase or space battle

5. R2 & 3PO

6. John Williams' score and music

7. New Planets, new terrain

8. A hot chick

9. Wookies

 

TPM space battle was boring.

 

Lasers that go PEW PEW PEW!

 

yeah but the ones in the other two were good especially the astroid chace in AOTC and the battle at the begining of ROTS

 

*Big 3
*R2D2 and C3PO
*Lightsabers
*Space Battle(s)
*Some type of conflict suited directly for the Skywalker/Solo clan, whether external or internal.

And some would say a May release(but not me).

 

I could care less the time of year as long as the movie is good.

 

whats so important with getting 3 senior citizens and an overused prop back into the film,the franchise had just started delving into interesting mythological territory and now we get "oh remember this puppet from 1983?..well here he is again!..in HD!"

 

It needs a couple more years to get made properly

 

We need more laser guns and a bit less lightsabers (only a bit less!).
Lots of Force users but also regular people as heroes.
A huge space battle.
Less politics.
Han doing wonders with the Millennium Falcon (ESB style).
Thrilling soundtrack

I'm sorry, when did the franchise "start delving into interesting mythology"? I must've missed that part when I fell asleep during the prequels.

 

This. Definitely this....

 

Yeah 'cause senior citizens certainly can't act! People like Christopher Lee, Ian McDiarmid, Peter Cushing, Alec Guinness. <--- These guys just RUIN Star Wars for me. And yeah those damn puppets! They ruined it all too!

What we need is more of this FRESH NEW mythology from the prequels. Yeah....more of....that....

 

Funny thing is: very little was in ANH. Both the Force and the lightsaber was used sparringly, There were dogfights and the trench run but no real space battle. NO land battle. No Yoda, Emperor or Force Ghost. No big final fight against the bad guy.

So apparently very little is needed to make a movie a star wars movie.

 

We did have Ben's Force Ghost as a voice, even if not a visible manifestation.
