Another DVD I forgot to mention is Total Recall.
The American disc has a doco and audio commentary, the Aus one has nothing.

As someone has mentioned the reason we don't get the same features on some DVDs that the US get is because the rights to movies are owned by different companies in some countries.

Take T2 for example, in Oz Columbia Tristar had the rights to the theatrical version only and are unable to release that Special Edition (with added footage). Apparently though Columbia have now lost the rights and MGM, who released The Terminator Special Edition in Aus have the rights to T2 and we may see the Special Edition of T2 released here eventually.

Also some companies like to make as much $$$ as possible so they release a standard version, with no features, then 6-12 months later they'll release a Special Edition. Prime example is the Star Trek movies.

It's so annoying when distributors do that. It's kind of like Lord of the Rings. I'm extremely glad I knew that the Extended Edition was coming, so I held off buying the original release. That is a bit different though.

I refuse to pay $200+ for a box set. Especially when you can get a 6 Disc set like Band of Brothers for less than $100.

What do you reckon the chances of seeing a boxed set for Earth 2 are? Be glad you get to have the series released.

Meanwhile, who's got a DVD burner?

    To rephrase:
