What Exactly happened to all the Droid Armies after ROTS?

Huh. From TPM I thought it took a starfighter cannon to do that... (maybe that's just with shields up?)
If you play BF2 get the award weapons, they're more powerful.

 

I guess it depends on the game. In Republic Commando, the super battle droids have to be hit a ridiculous amount of times.

Game mechanics/movie do not interrelate..I mean, it shouldn't take multiple sabre hits to drop a battle droid, and for that matter, Anakin Skywalker can do alot more than throw his sabre and choke people.

 

Once, in a game of BF 1 I witnessed, Mace was killed by a droideka.

I know..when the friggin Emperor gets picked off by some AI bot named Kyp Astar, that's when you know not to take the game seriously.

 

The first time I saw Yoda get killed in a game ( I think it was the Clone Wars arena ), it was kind of unsettling. It's like "Whoa, that ain't supposed to happen."

I don't see why a lot of the decommissioned droids couldn't have been hoarded away on the sly by someone in their little fortress of evil (or the back of their vaporator shed) as insurance in case their planet didn't like the new politics of the Empire and wanted to leave their options open for a break sometime in the future. Since other people (the Jedi in Dark Lord for example) could find ways to re-establish droid protocols if they wished then someone who had an army collected from the decommissioned droids would still have a possible army they could call upon... I see the idea could come up again sometime in the future, be it either tv series or random EU novel (please God, not the second!)

 

Gizor Dellso ressurected a droid army soon after the events of ROTS. It's BF2, not sure if it's exactly canon or not.

 

They were recycled into those metal discs on Imperial caps and belt buckles. This picture from the Star Wars Visual Dictionary clearly illustrates this point.

I don't know why Palpatine would want to have the armies shut down. He could have the stormtroopers AND droids (who are much better shots than st's) at his disposal. Imagine if the PT came first, that's a few million more units for ya. The Rebels would stand no chance against the thousands of ST's and millions of driods still active during the last few days of the Clone wars. Imagine droidekas rolling trough the Tantive IV blown-up in ANH instead of a few meatbags

The Empire undoubtedly held the controls in their grip, and probably for political reasons never reactivated the army.

 

It says on wookiepedia that various other pirate groups, planets, and whatnot quickily made use of the Droids and warships that were left over.

also, i think that the majority were melted down and the resulting metal was used for the death star.

 

That's an interesting theory.

 

when the next "final edition" of the OT is sold, it would be a cute little joke if amongst the droids in the sandcrawler or at Jabbas Palace there would be a battledroid from the PT.

 

That was also mentioned in Dark Lord.

 

The Jawas only collect droids that might be potentially useful.

 

Like the droid known only as "Red" in ANH? Yeah what a useful droid that was.
