What Expanded Universe Scenes Do You Want In The Ultimate Edition?

(Sorry if this has already been done, I couldn't find it anywhere before!)

As unlikely as they may be would you like to see expanded universe based scenes in the ultimate edition? (Like Mara Jade cameos in Jabbas palace in Tatooine)

Obviously we will struggle to link cameos to original charcters because the actors look so different, or could we - would you like to see this?

I would like to see:-

Dash Rendar cameo (hopefully with Russel Crowe as Dash!) on Hoth base in ESB

That scene from the SotE from the emperors side of the communication with Vader with Xizor in the background.

These are the only two that spring to mind at the moment (I am a HUGE SotE fan), more when I think of them

 

What's this "Ultimate Edition"? You mean the "Archival Edition" thingy? I don't want any EU scenes or cameos added to that, particularly.

 

Just the Mara Jade cameo,thank you. The EU characters are, well, EU, and how can you possibly put them inside the OT? I'm not talking about technical stuff, because if they really wanted to do so they could. But it would be weird to see Russell Crowe as Dash. I never pictured him like that. I thought he'd be better looking.

 

Yup, Kast, those two'd be nice.

Especially Xizor.

I cringe every time I see those matte lines around the Rancor. Oh, and I think Russell Crowe would make a great Dash Rendar...

I know I don't have to, but as soon as I see it on the shelves, my inner SW geek will suppress the part of my brain that controls logic/reason and force me to buy it.

I just hope that the DVD versions of the new OT will come out around the same time as the tapes, or else I'm going to have six whole trilogies.

 

Mara Jade in Jabba's Palace is my #1 top addition.

I'd also love to see Thrawn somewhere (though that seems unlikely), as well as Isard or Pellaeon.

Likewise, I'd love to see Rendar, Guri, or Xizor make an appearance.

I'd love to see more Coruscant scenes - what is happening on Imperial Planet during some of the scenes...Give me more Empire!

I totally agree Mazzic, I almost dread NOT seeing them! Yuk, yuk, yuk...

 

What about interdictor cruisers? They had those pre-Endor, didn't they?

 

Yeah, they had TIE Avengers and Strike Cruisers too.

 

I'd rather see the Classic trilogy linked to the Prequels in these editions. Even though EU has appeared in the films, I believe most EU easter eggs should appear in film adaptations, where they can easily maintain a sense of continuity.

Plus I think that awful Rancor scene should be fixed, maybe even replaced with a band of Wampas.

 

I'd rather not see an Ultimate Edition.

Why should I pay more money to line Lucas' already fat pocketbook?

He should be nice and just release the extra scenes in a nice video package rather than rake us over the coals for another $70.

 

Eh... the movies are fine the way they are.

 

Yeah, I'm hoping that when the OT is released on DVD, there will be an option to watch the movies as they were before the Special Editions... well... except for the Rancor scene. Getting rid of matte lines doesn't really cause any harm.

 

I didn't catch the matt lines until someone mentioned it and I rewatched ROTJ--man that was freaking obvious! [face_shocked] I couldn't believe I didn't spot them before. And I can't believe Lucasand Co. didn't either.

 

What I'd like to see :

Mara in Jabba's palace.

Xizor on coruscant / watching in on Vader and the Emperor's convy in ESB

A Yuzhuaan Vong Agent on coruscant..... suitably fitting in so you only know that he is a Vong if you have read the NJO....
