What games are you most looking forward to buying?

I tried to find a similar thread to this but since I couldn't I figured I'd start my own. Anyway, it seems like there are quite a few fantastic looking video games in development right now. I'll list the ones that I'm most excited about and I invite all of you to do the same. Let's see how much debt we can convince each other into putting ourselves. [facE_tongue]

Ghostbusters: The Video Game
Aliens: Colonial Marines
Lord of the Rings: Conquest
Doom 4 (granted, it's likely to be years before we see this one)
Wolfenstein
Call of Duty: World at War
Battlefield Heroes (thank goodness this one is free )

C&C Red Alert 3

Well, that's my list. I would have put TFU on here but since I only play PC games... yeah, Lucasarts sucks.

Because of my job reviewing the games, I might end up getting them out of no where, but if I had to purchase them, these would probably be my choices..

- Gears of War 2 (can't decide if I want the LE or not)
- Rock Band 2 (decided to skip the first one and the waiting seems to have payed off)
- Fallout 3 (never played the fallout series before so this should be fun)
- Mercenaries 2
- Borderlands
- Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Guitar Hero World Tour would be nice, but I think I'd definitely like to try Rock Band this time around.

BTW, I forgot about Fallout 3. After playing Oblivion and absolutely loving it, I may just have to try Fallout 3 and see what that series is like. The game vids do look impressive.

 

I plan to get a 360 and get Fable 2 and Fallout 3.

For my Wii, I plan to get The Force Unleashed.

 

Spore and Mirror's Edge.

I'm still on the fence about The Force Unleashed. I'm unsure if I should just buy it for my PS2, or wait for some mythological day in the future when I finally buy a 360...

I'm waiting for a price drop on the PS3 to buy one and start catching on the current generation of games. I've played the 360 and was utterly unimpressed with Gears of War and Call of Duty 4. It really doesn't have anything to entice me. It's exclusives are bland and if there is something I really want I can get it on PC eventually anyway. Besides Dead Rising, but that's not worth a console.

Definitely need to grab The Orange Box, Grand Theft Auto IV, Bioshock, Resistance as well as the new Ratchet and Clank. Perhaps a couple others like Uncharted and the Darkness, but I'm not really desperate to play them.

Fallout 3, if combined with a rumoured sufficient price drop, will probably push me over the edge into buying a PS3. I may have my hopes too high, but it looks like the RPG I've been dreaming about. Freedom. Not the KotOR crap or the Fable crap, but real freedom of the likes that hasn't been expanded upon since Deus Ex came out 8 years ago. The freedom to kill a guy and completely alter the way things work in the story. The freedom of realistic moral choices rather than being a light socialism or dark jackass.

Brutal Legend will be a must have. Tim Shaffer is amazing even when he touches subjects I'm uninterested in. Now he's dealing with metal? Hell's bells, this is going to be awesome. Jack Black, Lemmy, Rob Halford and Dio voice acting? Zakk Wylde solos? Did I pass out on my Mesa Boogie combo again? Because this is too good to be true.

Borderlands looks interesting. I like Mad Max settings and gunplay freedom. But it will probably disappoint on other levels.

Alpha Protocol has caught my attention. I think Obsidian could make a good RPG if they have time and can stay away from BioWare's broken and unbalanced version of D20 rules. Let's just hope being a stealthy, non-lethal spy gets you bonuses so I'm not just killing everyone for XP again.

In the more distant future I have a hard time believing I can resist Half-Life 2.3, Resident Evil 5, Deus Ex 3, God of War 3 or Resistance 2.

 

You do know a grand total of two of the games you listed are PS3 exclusives, right? I have no idea why you think Fallout 3 will be the catalyst of your eventual PS3 purchase, considering it's also coming out on the 360. Plus multiplatform games are almost always proven to perform better on the Xbox. Add that in with the fact that the 360's controller absolutely destroys the DualShock, and that Live is the best online gaming service out there, and you have me confused as to why you think Sony trumps Microsoft.

Uh. He doesn't like any of the Xbox exclusive and listed 3 PS3 exclusives he's interested in, Resistance, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank. When Fallout 3 comes out, it will be worth buying a PS3 to play those games as well as Fallout. Not that hard to follow.

And considering everything else you said is a matter of opinion or quite possibly irrelevant, I'm confused why you think he cares.
