What happened to the clones?

In AOTC and RTOS, all officers in the Republic/Imperial army are clones of Jango Fett. In Eps IV-VI, all officers and non-storm troopers are crusty English guys. What happened to the Jango clones who were leading troops?

 

Technically, GL just didn't have the technology in '77 to make all the officers look the same.

In-universe, the Clones have a short lifespan due to the growth accelerants. Most were probably dead between ROTS and ANH, and it was probably cheaper for the Empire to recruit/conscript soldiers than to clone them.

 

ANH has an officer leading the stormtroopers on Tatooine, orange shoulder color. On HOTH we see a commanding officer for the snow troopers, he has a lieutenants insignia. On Endor, there's not really any stormtrooper or scout trooper officer to be seen. Maybe that location is too important and higher ranking officers are in charge.

 

what's the source of these growth accelerants?

 

I dont know if its a reliable source but it was metioned in ATTACK OF THE CLONES.

 

I would believe it,if it was said in a movie.

 

In the CT:

Stormtroopers = mix of clones and recruits

All other officers = recruits

There were plenty of non-clone officers--including the Jedi and the soldiers seen on the Star Destroyer bridge at the end of ROTS.

 

What are the white guys called in the OT? Imperial soldiers or something?
