What happened to the PA Icons?!

Mine's gone!

 

Some icons were deleted yesterday. It is all part of the grand scheme of the new icons process.

Phase I - Adding new icons (we added 181 icons). complete

Phase II - The MS voted on icons to delete that were not as popular or were deemed extraneous. complete

Phase III - Asking icon-creators to submit their recommendations for replacements to current icons with better versions. will be announced tonight

 

So are they uhh replacing it or what?

 

Out of simple curiosity: Is/ Was there a list of icons that got deleted?
I only found the site where the icons that will be replaced are listed

 

Could any links pertaining to this be posted here? I miss my PA icon and want to know more of this "replacing" that will occur.

EDIT: Maybe I didn't look back far enough (till p.135) but I still didn't find a list of icons-that-were-(to-be-)deleted...

Here are all the icons that were deleted.

Also, after we replace current icons with better versions, another vote for deletion will occur. Expect the same number of icons to be deleted (around 10).

Wasn't the "Banned" one just uploaded?

 

I was under the impression that the 'banned' one was pretty popular... I always hoped the 'A winner is you' would be made public. I really really liked that icon.

 

The PA icons were semi-popular in Games for awhile, Dan used the Tycho one until the 42 was uploaded....

 

Yeah, Dan used them, ^ used them, I used them, PreacherBoy used them, and a whole bunch of other people used them when they first were released.

 

citizen-tom: I, too, was hoping that "A winner is you" would be made public... and I liked the Darth Kimball and "Banned" icons, well, what can I do...

 

"A winner is you" is a prize icon for Games Tournament winners. I'm working to get it reuploaded for the next video-game play-off (whenever that may be), but it will never be a public icon. You have to earn that baby.

Also regarding the Penny Arcade icons, please see my comments in this thread in the Games forum.

 

Well i hope my icon wont be removed, ive grown attatched to it ::im weird::

No offense, but your icon kinda looks assy. It needs some anti-aliasing. But it is you, duh.

anti-aliasing blurs pixels to soften the edges of the objects so they don't appear jagged.

Your icon is jagged so that is why he suggest anti-aliasing for that icon.

 

ah-ok. now i have to go find some one to do that, because i have no idea, dont want t o get this icon deleted

Beowulf81 is the one who made that Comic Book Guy icon.

 

How come my Force Ban icon got deleted? It was a brand new addition in the last update. ? ? ? ? ?

 

That icon was voted to be uploaded, and then also had enough votes for it to be removed. Sorry! There's always a chance it will be uploaded again. And you can always re-submit your icon choices for the next icon process. With so many icons loaded, the pruning process affected even some of the new icons.

 

How odd. I seem to recall seeing many many people use the force-ban icon.
