I was at Round Table on Sat, but no one showed from Sac Valley. A group from Vacaville came out to join the meeting so I got to hang out with them. Can someone let me know what's going on??

    Thanks,

    Dusan

Sorry you were there and we weren't, but....

If you read the first thread that was on this page, entitled JAN. MEETING, Marric posted on 1/5 that he and Tara were unable to make it to run the meeting, and many other members responded with their own obligations that overrode the meeting so it had essentially been cancelled about 48 hours in advance. I would highly encourage you and the group from Vacaville to get involved here and post new threads and read and reply to existing ones. Discussions via the internet is (almost) always available, and activity on the boards would help stir up more interest and commitment to meetings and group activities. :)

Thanks for replying Tainted Jedi. I foolishly didn't check the boards & the Vacaville crew checked the FaceBook page. We ended up having a good time anyway. A few topics of conversation: Who would still makeout with Carrie Fisher, should we stop watching the Star Wars Christmas Special, etc. Definitely not a loss. Hopefully I'll catch you next month!

Hey Dusan, sorry I missed you this month, should be down for next months meeting though, so looking forward to catching up! Maybe we can plan our "hunt" to locate Timothy Busfield in Sac!

As for the topics of discusion, you know what the heck, as long as Viki (the wife) didn't have a problem with it, I would make out with Carrie Fisher today! Though in my head she would be the Carrie Fisher from 1983 in her Slave Leia outfit! ;) Plus it appears that shes going on Jenny Craig to lose 30 pounds!

    Carrie Fisher joins Jenny Craig

I also think the Holiday Special should be watched at least once by all true lovers of SW! Its like a rite of passage so to speak, being able to sit through the whole thing WITHOUT fast forwarding too! As for watching it again after already seeing it, I say heck yeah! Its soooooo wonderfully bad, its good! C'mon, the first 8 or 9 minutes in Wookiee with no subtitles, Chewie's Dad name is "Itchy" and his son is "Lumpy" (ok those are the shortened versions of their full names, but c'mon, "Itchy" and "Lumpy"), Art Carney selling toothbrushes to StormTroopers, Bea Arthur singing in the Cantina, Wookiee "porn", a song by Starship, Mark Hamill in so much makeup he looks like he's in drag, The First appearance of Boba Fett in a "Heavy Metal" styled cartoon, AND Carrie Fisher singing the "Life Day" song at the end with Han, Luke, the Droids, Chewie and his family and a bunch of other Wookiees in snuggies holding glowing balls!!! So so awesome!

Thanks for holding the fort down Dusan. We should be in full force(hehe) for Feb.
Ya' know even after giving her a hug, I would also make out w/ her. (Wondering if Kimmie would do the same w/ H.F.)
Hope to see you all for the next meet.

    Hey DZ,

Arnold Poindexter can run, but he can't hide from the classic roles of his past. The man can play a mean violin!

The Holiday Special may be an embarrassment to Lucas, but it?ll live on in the hearts of the truest fans. People are too afraid to be that corny & ridiculous anymore, so it has to be preserved. ?Wookiee Snuggies? ?I love it! Star Wars has always been known for its innovations.

Poor Carrie has struggled over the years, but the general consensus was that she could never be too far gone to kill the fantasy. Gotta love it! Hope to catch you next month!
