dern.. when I saw this thread, I was thinking, "Cool, I'm gonna say I like Jaina because she's the mother of Kyp's future children!" But, basically, ReaperFett beat me to it. :: I've been defeated.

I used to not like Jaina, in the YJK books but in the NJO she's totally cool She's like a female Han, that's why I like her so much!

Also, you have to consider who she hangs out with- she has to be a little bit brash if she's going to survive in Rogue Squadron.

Ok, most of the women might have been a bit bitchy, but they had much better reasons. Leia was playing both sides of a real big fence. Mara was working for the Emperor for Pete's sake. Jaina is.......well.....not doing much of anything, other than flying with Rogue Squadron. Plus, isn't she a bit young to be this bitchy? Unless that's something that kids do earlier these days as well.

 

Jaina's the best of the new generation Jedi! Sure she can be a bite bitchy, but hey aren't we all a little bitchy inside? She's the daughter of Han Solo and Princess Leia! She's bound to have a bit of an attitude! Think about it! With genes in her, it's no wonder she a bit bitchy!

 

Jaina is NOT going to marry Kyp!!!

 

Jaina marrying Kyp would be just as bad as Jaina marrying Jacen.

 

ick. that would create the ultimate in annoying characters. I shudder to think about it.

 

I didn't say Kyp and Jaina would marry. Just get toether and stay that way

 

Jania is going to kill Kyp(if not kill sverally screw him up) like Nomi Sunrider did to Ulic in Tales of the Jedi. I think someone mentioned it earlier... but having Jaina in Rogue Squadron gives her perpose and a good story hook. I guess the word I am looking for is dynamic or to be frank, interesting.
Something I wish they play up more is Jaina's "connection" with Jacen... just an idea.

i want jaina to discover that it was all her mother's doing that got her into rouge squadron in the first place. sure she diserves to be there, but it was liea that got her there.

Jaina's cool because she doesn't feel the need to be this over-philosophizing meditator like Jacen, nor does she feel the need to go out and personally kick each Yuuzhan Vong's ass like Anakin. She does what she can do with her talents, and she doesn't kiss butt to get in people's favor.

Geez, a girl develops an attitude and a personality and demonstrates independance from men, and the guys call her a bitch! sounds like real life to me...
