That?s life, that?s what people say.
    You?re riding? high in april,
    Shot down in may.
But I know I?m gonna change that tune,
When I?m back on top in june.

That?s life, funny as it seems.
    Some people get their kicks,
    Steppin? on dreams;
But I don?t let it get me down,
?cause this ol? word keeps getting around.

    I?ve been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate,
    A poet, a pawn and a king.
I?ve been up and down and over and out
    And I know one thing:
Each time I find myself flat on my face,
I pick myself up and get back in the race.

    That?s life, I can?t deny it,
    I thought of quitting,
But my heart just won?t buy it.
If I didn?t think it was worth a try,
I?d roll myself up in a big ball and die

I learned that when you go to the kitchen in your slumming gear (Trackies and t-shirt, comfy socks) to get a drink it is unwise to get dizzy and drop the glass.
I also learned that no matter how careful you are to avoid the broken pieces, one piece will invariably end up finding its way into your foot and take ages to get out again.

OOo Jimbo that sounds a bit nasty! You want to go to your GP and get yourself checked out if you're feeling dizzy you know :)

Today I learned that I have the breaking point of wet weetabix where shopping in crowded places with homicidal grannies and screaming kids is concerned!

My temper went from 0 to boiling point in about 30 minutes

Nik, if I didn't know beter I would say we were related.
I have a 'zero tolerance' policy on both those things while shopping.
My advice, be rude and obnoxious.
I am well known in my local shopping precinct as 'The guy not to get in the way of.'
    Try it, it is fun!

    [Homer]Neeeeerrrrrrdddd!!!![/Homer]

Shouldn't laugh, as I'm getting close to that stage myself. Although, I can't imagine the "right frame" to make me look sexier. [face_worried]

I wear contact lenses, not for asthetic purposes but because I have to for the eye condition I have!

Oh believe me Jimbo no one messes with me they tend to stay the hell away from the growling lady ;) [face_mischief]

I learned that I am not suited to working in the kids section of Waterstones
I had to count to myself many times to prevent me from just going mad and strangling the nearest moaning kid or screaching baby (and there were a lot) [face_tired]

And speaking of glasses, I have an interesting point:
I am the only (and I mean only) member of my entire living family that does not wear glasses. My Grandmas on both sides, my late Grandfather, Aunt, Uncle, cousins, Mum, Dad & sister all wear glasses either full time or sometimes to read and see things better.

I have exceptional eyesight and do not look like ever needing glasses......weird huh?

Though saying that I've probably jinxed myself :p

Did your parents find you under a bush at the end of the garden by any chance? :p

Apparently whatever the name of whatever my family has in regards to eye problems ISN'T supposed to be hereditary but my Mom, my sister and myself all have the same thing o_O

I learnt that I had perfect 20/20 vison until I got a computer and spent lots of time looking at the screen.

I blame MS Excel for my need for reading glasses now. Since I'm an accounting clerk I spend way too many hours staring at spreadsheets.

I spend too many hours staring at a PC & TV screen
    My eyesight is still fine

I knew those ruin-your-eyesight-with-TV-and-Computer stories were a load of tripe :D

    Good point
Its just most of my family who have eye problems all got it before they were 20

Its not looking like that will happen to me

But hey, if I end up needing glasses, I'll just get contacts :p

    Why thank you

I'm not saying those who said PCs screwed up their eyesight are wrong, I just said I think its not true that it happens

Its entirely possible that PCs do not ruin eyesight, and its just a coinsidence that you happen to get an eye condition that requires you to need glasses.
It happens to a lot of people who have never used a PC in their lives, or hardly watched any TV.

Its a story that was invented to try and make people cut down on the amount of time spent doing nothing but using the PC or TV
