Yep, you were unfortunately too right about DRL getting to your readers! I'm so sorry for not replying for ages! I haven't got the time now (4 words - history essay for tomorrow!LOL!) to review properly like you deserve, but will do after college tomorrow...General Grevious! Phew! You continue to shock us with every new chapter!

Reihla: Great Ani chapter! He and Bera make an interesting team. Good to have Chewie back too

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed Ani and Bera working together, and Chewie's appearance also. :)

Nice slide back to the Separatist perspective in the next installment. I'm glad you introduced us to Grievous. I've been looking forward to learning more about him.

Ah good, I had hoped that was effective. Yep, Grevious will be showing up again in the fairly near future. And you can expect big things from him once he really arrives on the scene.

No need to apologize, I've been having DRL issues as well. Anyway, don't rush, the story isn't going anywhwere. You've got two chapters to enjoy, and I hope you like them.

    Alixen: Cool chapter

    Hey man :)

As much as im enjoying this, i have to say, i suggest unless people start actually posting that you put this on hold for a while.

This is a great fic, but with the few people who are bothering to post you could be using the hours it takes to write this to do something else you enjoy.

This is why my fics have stopped, its just not worth the time that could be used doing other things when hardly anyone bothers to comment, while yea fics are done because the writer likes the idea, it does need people to comment as fuel to continue.

Thanks for sharing this fic with us, even if i do suggest you stop till people stop being selfish and lurking.

First off, thanks for the pushing this story UP!

I understand the frustration but it's OK, really. I'm well past the worrying about reviews stage. This is not to say I wouldn't love and welcome more though. 8-} My reviewers, few as they are, have been great. And I'm hopeful that this will eventually gain a wider audience, but for now I'm just enjoying writing it. Thanks, as always, for the concern, and support.

BTW: A new post is in the works. ;)

    Chapter 86
A Jedi's legacy, Saato's Master, and the hunt for Khameir Sarin.

The executive secretary couldn't help but peek up every few seconds at the intimidating figure seated nearby- it was an irresistible urge. Everything about him screamed warnings in her mind to look away, but his presence demanded attention be paid. Clad in silver and red armor, complete with matching helmet, he sat stoically awaiting his audience with her employer. The T-shaped visor of the helmet looked almost exactly like those warn by the Republic's clone soldiers that she had seen on the holonet recently. Still, he was no clone, at least she didn't believe he was. No, she decided, he just wasn't the clone type. However, he was as intimidating as those soldiers she had seen, maybe more so.

Her employer's miniature blue form flickered to life on her desk, indicating that his guest could now be shown in. Doing as she was told, she escorted the armor clad figure into the office of her boss, Lorian Nod, before being politely dismissed.

"Welcome to Junction 5, Silas. I trust you had a safe journey?" Lorian spoke calmly from behind his large desk.

"Trip was fine, but a more than a little unexpected. I'd thought we had concluded our business, Minister." Silas slouched slightly in his seat, his helmet resting in his lap.

"You knew me before I took this office, Silas, so please call me Lorian or at least Nod."

"Alright,...Nod, I had thought we concluded our business already?"

"My days of pushing my will onto others are long past, but there remains a debt unpaid, Silas. Don't forget who kept you from death at the hands of Dooku, and don't forget who has paid to keep you hidden away all this time."

"I've forgotten nothing, Nod. But this isn't the safest time for me to re-appear, now is it? Dooku used the name Tyranus in my presence in case you've forgotten. Now, I don't claim to understand the significance of it, but since I haven't heard anyone else call him that..."

"You're right of course, he would consider you a loose end of sorts."

"Ya, you could call me that. Oh, and don't think I haven't heard about that bounty hunter he's keeping company with these days. Durge, that's his name, isn't it? Way I hear it, this Durge has some major issues with the Mandalorians going back long before my time. Now don't go thinking I'm afraid, cause I'm not, but do play the odds, and they ain't in my favor."

"You pick your battles wisely, old friend."

"I just like to keep track of the score. I'm sure as the nine Corellian hells no friend to the Jedi, and we've already covered the Separatists, old buddy. Now maybe you, Nod, are comfortable sitting exposed in the middle, but not me. I like my back to the wall- cuts down on the risk of being stabbed in it."

"All very interesting, Silas, but there is still the matter of your debt to me. Dooku interrogated you in order to learn about your former comrade, Jango Fett. He tortured you and left you for dead, and dead is what you would have been a decade ago if not for me. I tended your wounds, and invested considerable time and money to hide you away. I have done all of this and asked very little, more than I should have, but it is little none-the-less."

    "More than you should have?"

"I was a Jedi once, Silas, helping others for our own gain is generally frowned upon."

"Nice to know I'm the exception that proves the rule," Silas snorted in disgust.

"Well, I haven't been a Jedi in a very long time," Lorian retorted, a ghost of a smile playing on his lips.

"Alright already, all this talking is making want to hit something, so just get on with it." Silas flung his arms out in exasperation knowing that ultimately he was not going to get out of whatever Lorian Nod had in store for hi

I'm here. I just checked out your other stories, which are excellent BTW. I have yet to read Perilious Days though, but I will I promise!

I like this Dark Witch... She should just kill Palpatine and take over. [face_devil]

Few beings, if any, would dare cut Darth Sidious short, but the Dark Witch was one of them. "But you seek my counsel; you wish to be sure of her resolve. Will it waver in the days to come, or will she remain strong and ready to strike?"

"If you are wise, old woman, you won't do that again," Darth Sidious hissed.

With an utter lack of sincerity, the Dark Witch responded. "My apologies,...My Lord."

"Saato?" Sidious forced his one word question out through clenched teeth.

The almost casual tone she used to reply nearly pushed the Dark Lord over the edge. "She has been well trained, My Master, the Jedi will be no match for her." Smiling slightly to reveal rotting teeth, she added. "The mistakes of the past will not be repeated,...Lord Sidious."

I loved how she just cut him off and then acts like she doesn't care that he's fuming.
Is this how sith flirt? :p

Her back still turned to Maul's writhing form, the Dark Witch again addressed her Master. "You must find that one most amusing for I can think of no other reason for his existence. He is pathetic and weak, and everything he touches is stained with failure. Does he amuse you, Master?"

Darth Sidious paused to consider his answer, paying absolutely no attention to the piercing screams of his former apprentice. "His sheer devotion to the darkside is reason enough to keep him alive...for now. One day his usefulness may come to and end, but for the time being his blind devotion serves my purposes."

[face_laugh] They just carry on their conversation while Maul's over there screaming.
It's a good thing he's preoccupied though, what they said about him would certainly hurt his self-esteem. :p

    Great Post :D

Some ugly parents have cute kids. I've seen it done before. ;)

Think about it, this Dark Witch and Palps have a lot in common: They're both sith, their ugly, their evil, both think Maul is pathetic (poor Maul :( I feel bad for him). They could get together, although they'd always argue about who gets to have total galaxy domination. 8-} :p

    Chapter 87
A dark Jedi in the clouds

He ran as fast as his legs would carry him; long strides easily keeping pace with his prey. Darkness had fallen now and this section of the city was especially quiet tonight. He had chased his prey down passageways, passed various businesses that were closed for the evening, and finally downward toward the bowls of the city.

Breathing hard a thing layer of sweat coating his brow, he stepped into the darkened chamber. When the lights suddenly came up they revealed the room to be one used for carbon freezing. He stretched out with the Force searching for his adversary's presence- he was here, he had to be.

The snap-hiss of a lightsaber caused him to turn, and that's when he saw him. Standing calmly at the top of a set of durasteel stairs was the dark Jedi he had been searching for. The dark one's red blade was held casually at his side as he waited for the Padawan to join him.

Ascending the stairs with determined steps, he set his face in a hard, challenging expression. Once on level ground with his enemy, the Nameless Padawan snapped his blade to life with a flick of his thumb.

As the blue blade came to life, the dark Jedi raised a questioning blond eyebrow. "A new weapon, boy? What's the matter, didn't your new Master approve of your original blade?"

"My choice of weapon should make no difference to you, unless you prefer to die by a certain color?" This time it was the Padawan who raised a questioning eyebrow.

Letting out a derisive snort, the dark Jedi lunged at the Padawan, his red blade crashing violently into the Padawan's blue one. For several long moments, the two combatants traded heavy-handed blows until the dark one switched his strategy. Slicing low at the Padawan's legs, the dark Jedi forced his opponent to somersault backwards to avoid the strike. The young Jedi landed awkwardly on the steps and slipped, tumbling down to the landing below.

To the Padawan's astonishment the dark Jedi did not follow him down to the lower landing. Choosing instead to remain on higher ground, the dark one merely looked on amused as the Padawan climbed to his feet. The Padawan took two steps forward before the dark Jedi threw his ignited blade towards him. Instinctively, the Padawan raised his blue blade to deflect the flying red one, but it was not aimed for him directly. Instead of hitting him, the dark Jedi's saber sliced loose a nearby pipe sending a burst of steam into the Padawan's face. Stumbling backwards into a railing, the young Jedi fought to clear his now clouded vision.

"You are powerful, boy, but so very very raw," the dark Jedi taunted from the higher landing.

Using the cloud of steam to hide his movements, the Padawan flicked off his saber to further conceal his location. Saying nothing in response to his enemy's mocking, he waited for his opportunity to strike.

"My name is Artel Darc, boy. Remember it well, for if you fail your trials, we will meet again...that is...if you survive." Turning away from the battle awaiting him at the bottom of the stairs, Artel Darc made his way through a door located behind him and out onto a long catwalk. His eyes were focused over the side of the catwalk's railing as he traveled across it, admiring the height at which he was crossing. However, halfway to the other side a familiar presence caused Darc to shift his gaze to that which now stood before him.

"Don't you know that it's bad form to simply walk out on people without so much as a proper good-bye?"

Chuckling, Artel Darc responded. "General Kenobi; why this is a most pleasant surprise. I'm so glad you could join me today. I had hoped we would run into each other."

"Well, who am I to disappoint someone who has gone to so much trouble to arrange a meeting such as this."

Stifling a laugh, Artel Darc drew his blade and lunged at Obi-Wan, much as he had the Nameless Padawan earlier. Unlike his apprentice, Obi-Wan soon had the upper-hand over the talented dark Jedi. His focused attacks, and crisp parries left Artel Darc utterly frustra
