PT What if The Invisible Hand was destroyed with everyone on it?

    I just had this random thought when watching ROTS. What if the Invisible Hand was destroyed while Anakin and Obi Wan where trying to rescue Palpatine with everyone on it? What do you think would happen? The Republic and Separatists would of lost their leaders and Palpatine would be dead. My guess is that the Republic and Separatists would have an uneasy truce and there would be peace though there would probably be a big power grab for the position of Supreme Chancellor.

    Could you imagine... the saga ending, the force being brought into balance, the prophesy being fulfilled... not due to Anakin's combat prowess, or from some beautiful last minute act of selfless heroism, but rather because Anakin couldn't land half a ship.

    The Separatists would have lost their Force users, while the Republic would have plenty left. The war soon ends in an overwhelming Republic victory. Sure, the Jedi would be gracious and allow the Separatists to surrender at the last, but Force against non-Force? It's going to be an ugly loss. Maybe the CIS leaders could save themselves by recruiting Maul, Ventress, or the like, but Maul is no Dooku.
