What is a good MP3 editor?

I need to do some MP3 editing for a web page I'm working on. I'm cutting some MP3s down that already exist. What would be best for doing this?

 

I haven't edited mp3s directly before, so I don't know of any mp3 editors, but what I have done is convert the mp3s to wavs, then use a sound editing program like CoolEdit or SoundForge to edit the wav, then convert them back to mp3.

EDIT: I did find this link to what purports to be an MP3 editor. I don't know how good it is, though.

 

I've edited an MP3 using Adobe. I just converted it to Wav edited then converted the edited version back to MP3.
