What is a Turbolaser Battery Blister?

Are the Turbolasers showing or are they retrackdable?

A blister is those things that stick off ships, like the wart things on the Mon Calamari crusers(those are blisters).

And yes, to my knowledge they retract a turbolaser from inside.

Does the same thing happen with an Imperial Star Destroyer? When you watch the movies or look at specs, it dosen't show the turbolasers. Are they to small against the warship that you can't see them or are they retackdable too?

In some scenes in ANH, the turbolasers are shown mounted inside the DeathStar firing through gunports. However, according to the technical guides the turbolaser batteries on an ISD are mounted externally on turbolaser towers like the ones surrounding the DeathStar trench.

i had thought you were refering to a burn on the hand of a hand blaster user who had fired to quickly and over heated the gun...

    clearly...i was wrong...

Where is that shown? I never saw gunports on the Death Star.

A blister, on a naval vessel, from what I understood were several turbolasers mounted in one armored section. Say you have ONE turbolaser mounted on the side of a ship. Let's further assume that the side of the ship is flat (180 degrees) and your cannon has a firing arc of 120 degrees. That'd leave a "blind spot" in the gunner's area, possibly deadly for them as a snubfighter could come in from that blind angle and attack the turret, and likely destroy it, without fear of damage. However, if you mount multiple, say four, turbolasers in an armored secion with EACH one having 120 degree firing arcs they could be set up to have not only overlapping fields of fire, but elimination of blind spots. Granted, only one turbolaser would likely be able to hit a specific "blind spot," but it's certainly better than zero turbolasers being able to hit that spot.

    Actually,Chiss dude is correct.

Turbolaser blisters conceal turbolasersIn battle,a part of the blister retracts and a turbolaser pops out. There's a good illustration of this in Wizards of the Coast's new Guide to Starships.Very cool.

Oh,but the blisters on Mon Cal cruisers are not turbolaser blisters. They're just for looks. The blisters on Dreadnaughts are turbolaser blisters.

On a Imperial Star Destroyer we see no Turbolaser blisters. Why is that?

Dunno. They just don't use em.All turbolasers are mounted on the outside of their hulls.

What is a Turbolaser Battery Blister?

When a beam from a turbolaser battery comes too close, you experience a burn similar to a very strong sunburn, and your skin quickly blisters. It's recommended that you pop it and let the fluids leak out.

If they are mounted outside there hulls, then we should be able to see them, right? On the Death Star and Death Star 2 we saw them, and that is about it.

Uhm..only if you were up really close.

Otherwise,it's kinda hard to make out the turbolasers on a SD's on a hull.

If you look closely enough, you can indeed see turbolasers mounted on a Star Destroyer's hull. Many of them are concealed on the side ridge, however.

See how the guns on that DREAD are in sort of bubbles? Thats the blisters when they are open, they're closed outside of battle. To my knowledge SDs just have them mounted on towers like on the Death Star.

    Thankyou AdmiralZaarin!

Why do the Imperials have them on towers and not on the hull itself?

    Double post, I see.

If you play a game like Rogue Leader, you see four really big cannons on the sides, eight in all. Are lose blisters? Also you see alot of tiny turbo lasers...
