    I've taken ultimate precautions and blacked out some details (never post a ticket online! :-B ), but I also couldn't resist posting this:

    [image=http://www.bluealert.co.uk/images/downton_ticket.jpg]

    Present will be Jullian Fellowes, his wife, a producer and Matthew Crawley. :cool:

    Soo...I guess I can't watch BBC iplayer without a TV license?! So I'm thinking I'm going to have to find other ways of watching Downton Abbey. I don't really want to pay for a TV license for one show.

    Yes if you're not going to pay the licence fee, and not willing to simply watch it on iPlayer anyway (I never had one at University), then downloading is your only option.

    EDIT: [face_blush] ITV shows aren't on the iPlayer. But they are on ITV Player, which might well be licence fee free.

    It's not on the BBC, not sure if ITV player will let you watch.

    But in regards to only watching one show, what about Doctor Who, Sherlock & the many other good shows the BBC produces?

    Downton Abbey is about the only thing ITV does that is worth watching, apart from football and Primeval :p

    Yeah. :( I don't have HDTV service at home so will have to make do.

    Bit of a shame there'll be ad breaks, too.

    Thank God for the torrents, the HD version of episodes is always available within an hour after the end of the original broadcast... [face_mischief]

    Yup! I'm so glad of that. At least my re-watch will be ad free. :D

    (oh yes, I'll be watching it again immediately after it's broadcast - or at least, as quickly as they stick the HD torrent up)

    The DW episodes are REALLY fast - the SD version is up within 10-15 minutes after the end of the broadcast, and the HD version is up within 20-40 minutes, depending. I can't remember how long it took them to upload the DA episodes, but they were pretty quick, too - definitely within an hour after the end of the broadcast.
