I'm not reading any posts before mine just in case. I just have a question, and please don't jump down my throat for it. Does it get less... slow past the first episode? I mean, I like some really slow, plodding programs, and this has some interesting elements for me as a history nerd, but damn.

 

It does, especially in the second series.

 

It's still no Walker, Texas Ranger, though.

Indeed... except it's important to remind Downton virgins that the faster moving second series isn't as good as the slower moving first.

I had a similar reaction as Everton.

Now the long wait till the third season. Should be interesting with the Irish civil war, I fully expect Sybil's husband to die.

 

Well, at least the inevitable outcome wasn't dragged out until the very end, doing it now makes more sense.
