Amph What is Ben Affleck's best acting role?

What I don't get is how all these comments about the arc of his career and his redemption and all that have anything to do with the fact that he's not a very good actor. It's funny; I criticize Affleck as an actor and the main argument I get is, "He's a great director." Yes, yes, he is. But being a great director doesn't make him any better of an actor. This weird opinion that somehow it does has infected even some of the most intelligent people I know. I know he's a great director. That has nothing to do with the fact that he isn't a good actor.

His role in Good Will Hunting, but I think it is more because OMERGERSH I LOVE THAT MOVIE than anything.

 

I liked him in Paycheck because Aaron Eckhart made him his ***** for like 5 minutes.

Actually, it's a ****ing terrible movie.

Apparently Ryan Gosling passed on being Batman. We missed out on so many "Hey girl, I'm the goddamn Batman"-type jokes.

 

Ryan Gosling as the Batman? What? He looks too spaced out of his mind all the time to be Batman.

 

He would have been a better choice

 

I'm guessing he wants to do more of what he's been doing, which has been taking some indy/Oscar bait roles and going more into directing (IIRC the film he's directing Matt Smith in either just wrapped or should be just about to.)

 

But I wanted to see Batman beat Superman to death with a hammer to 80's style music dammit!

I agree with this, everytime I watch that movie I wanna punch the **** out of him.

 

I was actually rooting for him to whack the crap out of that annoying little blonde kid and felt cheated that he didn't get to. Haha
