I have edited that post, but again: Canon canon is the main canon of a fictional universe, the entire franchise. Just canon is the canon of a part, like some sort of adaption, of a fictional universe, not part of the main canon. In Star Wars, all the movies, novels, comics, games, audio dramas and so on are canon canon, except for a few exceptions, so far. In Spacecenter Babylon 5 everything is canon, too. But in Tolkien's legendarium only the books are canon, the Lord of the Rings movies are an adaption of the books and differ from them a bit, so they're just canon for their own, not in the entire legendarium. Same with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, only the series is canon, not the comics. In some fictional universes, like the Donald Duck comics universe, there is no canon. Did you get it?

The Tobey Maguire Spiderman trilogy is canon.........

The Andrew Garfield Spiderman trilogy is canon..........

Yet they are different "canon", part of different storylines and universe and aren't connected to each other..........

You wrote that the post-Endor EU is canon, then Wierd_Green_Man said only if it doesn't contradict the movies, then you came to talk about canon canon and just canon and I gave you examples for what is canon canon and what is just canon.

Can we agree that while, both Andrew Garfield Spiderman and Tobey Maguire Spiderman are both canon, they are different storylines and universes and don't have anything to do with each other?

    Is SW like that?

So, there is no question the EU is canon.... Good start!!

However, is the Rise and Fall of Darth Vader, all the novelizations of the movies too, canon?? They contradicted the films.. The ROTJ novelization mentioned Padme Owen being Obi Wan's brother and Padme hiding Leia..... That proves it's a different canon, kinda Like Andrew And Tobey, agree??

Bond is like Barbie. These are both just names people slap on to things because they make money. There are many Barbies - scientist Barbie, doctor Barbie, fashion designer Barbie, pastry chef Barbie, etc. They all have the same name but are not the same thing or related. Same with Bond. Same name. Different continuity.

    Who is Padme Owen?
If there are minor contradictions like this, the details in the movies supersede the books. But as a whole the novelizations are canon. Some details may be retconned.

If a novel contradicts the movies, it is canon, a different canon, not canon at all??

If a novel says something, like Rise and Fall of Darth Vader, that doesn't contradict what the movies say but the Movies dont say it, is that canon??

The novelizations go into detail about Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker's motives......................

Right, in their own tiny micro-verses. The movies are canon in the movie universe but in the entire Spiderman storyline, they are non-canon. The entire franchise viewed as a whole only has the comics, which the movies are based off of, as canon canon.

It is still canon canon. There have just been some rectons.
If the movies don't say something, as long as they don't contradict it, it is canon.

As long as who doesn't contradict who?

What is still canon canon? What retcons?

If movies and anything else disagree, movies win.
    Retcons are retroactive edits.

Yeah. So Padme hiding Leia and Obi Wan having a brother-Owen Lars, is non/not canon. It's in the trash can.......

But the rest of that novel is canon? And the other novelizations are canon?

    So some EU isn't canon??

Once again. If it hasn't hit the movie screen, it isn't true canon.
