    MLO, the original acronym, is "malibu locals only" but i thought it was enough of a "thing" in surf culture that anyone living in california would have had to have heard about it

    and i grew up in San Diego and still live there. never heard anyone use "SDLO"

    Locals Only tends to be a phrase used to describe some surf spots where the local crowd isn't too favorable on outsiders (whether tourists, or just surfers they don't know). but never heard it in a larger 'San Diego Locals Only' sense.
