WOW. Talk about a shock. I get IM'd today by a friend informing me of the new CR elections... and I come to the boards today to find that even the tumble weeds have left.
Granted, I haven't been the most active member over the last couple of years; I have been busy presueing a new avenue of my 'fandom'. Granted, I have lots of wonderful memories with the SLCFF... I have created friendships that I treasure and wouldn't trade for anything. The SLCFF was the spring board that put me where I am now with my Star Wars fanness.

And so now we are looking into getting a new City Rep for Salt Lake City. Do we need one? Is this group still even active?? BrotherHalo said that in order to have an offical vote we would need 5 active members to cast a vote for the new CR.
Do we even have 5 active members to hold the vote??
I guess we would need to ask the question first.... what makes a person active on the Fan Force boards?

Well, I hardly consider myself active. I don't even know that I ever achieved full membership. I only went to a handful of events. I'm not too sure that the SLC FF still exists as a seperate entity. Perhaps a merger with Provo would be an idea?

    Are they active???

edit- How bout that? I just took a lookie down south and they're posting much more than us. Good for them. I'm jealous.

I think we could easily get five people to vote. Whether or not those five people are technically "active" is another thing entirely. I guess we'll just have to wait until they tell us what makes one "active"

I think the SLCFF can still be active. Just because I stepped down from being CR does not meant that I won't be around. I have too many things on my plate as it is and I am unable to do the duties of CR. We have our dry spells and I blame that on myself.

There also is not anything wrong with being apart of different fan groups.

I agree with Andy, I believe we can get 5 votes for a new CR.

This is the closest fan force to my hometown and I've made enough friends here to be a part of it, but I don't think I've ever been dubbed "active". I want to play.

    Awesome!

Active shmactive, that's what I say. There are probably people who still check in from time to time but don't ever post but that doesn't mean they're not a member anymore.

That's what I say. things happen in peoples lives that keep them away from time to time. Should they be punished for not being able to celebrate with others in a passion?

    Hey, I'm still around too.

I know I don't post often but I do check the boards at least once a week. Is that enough activity?

I think they are looking for those who come to activities and participate in the events and board goings on.

Sorry to answer so late, guys - I've been out of town for work the past couple of weeks.

To answer your question - an active member is however you define it.

As general FanForce guidelines go, you must have 5 members attend 3 public meetings to create and be recognized as an official chapter.

So unless you have other guidelines in place, as long as you've attended 3 events (meetings, parties, etc) within a reasonable amount of time (for example, within the last year) - you'd be active.

OK, so how many people attended three or more events last year?

    *raises hand*

Edit- Or would like to attend three or more events this year?

    *raises hand again*

When I was there, I attended. Granted, I moved, but does that still count?
