What is that black blob by Palpatine's right eye in ROTJ.

That has always bothered me.

Even after they cleaned up the Star Wars movies in the Special Editions, Palpatine still had that strange thing moving on his head. Do you know what I'm talking about?

What the hell is that?

I wonder if it will ever be removed?

 

No no no no, don´t remove that! That´s the Blob of the dark side. He´s the real boss, while Palpatine is a mere pawn. This will be expanded upon in EpIII, I hear.

If they ever make EpVII-IX, who do you think is gonna be the main bad guy? The Blob of course!

I believe it was an effects problem with the hood that GL forgot to deal with in the SE

I have the greatest of respect for the bad guys of SW, but the Blob (and the monkey-man, and the rancor...) could do with fixing.

Yes the blob has to go. I just watched RotJ last night and didn't hear a thing the Emperor said in that scene because I was so fixated on that freakin blob.

I thought the black blob was the "shroud of the Dark Side" Yoda referred to in AOTC. He was describing a vision in which the blob dropped from the ceiling and landed on Palpatine's face.

Palps will wear that hood forever after in an attempt to cover it.

Lars_Muul's post about the "blob" being the one that controls Palps reminds me of Futurama and the "mind leeches" (or the green leech blobs, what ever they were called).

Every time I watch ROTJ, I just stare at the stupid Dark Side Blob. I can't help it. Once you've noticed it, you can never stop noticing it. It's always there, lurking on the hood, waiting...

 

Yes, yes, stares at it they do! The Force Slug has all the power! Mesmerizing, yes, the Precious!

 

Don't you guys see? Don't you get it? The blob is really an eyepatch.
