    Macbeth...

I love how interesting it is. It brings up the point "are people born evil or good"

I guess I shouldn't have clicked other, as I meant it for my favorite and not the greatest, but for my money you can't beat Much Ado About Nothing or Midsummer Night's Dream.

Hamlet, though admittedly it was the only Shakespeare play I extensively studied in school. :)

    Hamlet.

I've studied or read all of the plays on this list and more (I've read the majority of Shakespeare's works, there's only a few plays I haven't gotten my hands on yet) and Hamlet my favourite, without a doubt. I've studied Hamlet twice now (once in grade 12, once first year university Dramatic Lit. -- I have an essay due on it next week. Whee! 8-} ) and there are intricacies in Hamlet that I just love. I love the characters, I love the plot, I love the way it's written. It's so quotable. Most of my favourite scenes in Shakespeare come from Hamlet. It's a brilliant play all around -- every time I read it, I find out something different.

And I had the luck of seeing a beautiful performance of it last June. I will never forget it. [face_love]

This is not to say I don't have many other favourites. There's only a couple of Shakespeare plays I don't like (Anthony and Cleopatra and Titus Andronicus are them). A Midsummer Night's Dream is my favourite comedy (as a drama student, the fifth act and anything to do with the play-within-the-play is utterly priceless -- definitely humour for those who understand theatre). I adore Macbeth, King Lear and Othello. Until I read Hamlet, Macbeth was my favourite. Some of my favourite soliloquies come from Macbeth. [face_love]

    Okay, I admit. I'm a Shakespeare geek. :-B

    The end. :p

Julius Caesar, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Othello, Macbeth and Hamlet

"We are the such stuff that dreams are made of!"

"A mote it is to trouble the mind's eye."

I went through a serious Shakepeare phase long before I was into Star Wars.[face_alien_1]

Sometimes it depends upon the actors. I know Kenneth Tynan thought it was the 'Henry' plays...IV, V & VI.

"The Tempest". I know it's not the flashiest or the most famous. But it's got a lot brewing underneath the surface.

    Rick McCallum loves you!
