And how did you feel about it?

I am in the process of buying a HOUSE. It is the single largest sum of money I have ever spent... and worst still, it is not mortgaged. So instead of it being BIG EVIL BANKS money I am handing over to sum smug middle class, middle aged couple who lucked themselves a nice house before the insane UK House bubble started back in the late nineties, it is my hard earned money and savings.

<LIE> As you can see, I have no issue or grudge with this. </LIE>

So. How do you feel about that BIG purchase? College fees? PS4? Brest Implants? Feel great? Buyers remorse?

    The world wants to know!

Your money, its your investment. Just make sure you have adequate insurance to cover everything.

College. I feel pretty awful about it, but there was no other way to the end point so.....had to make a faustian deal there.

Or I could just say health insurance *badumching*...thanks obamacare!

A used, mustard yellow Jeep Wrangler.

"Remorse" doesn't even begin to describe it.

How has obamacare been bad for you. Please elaborate. Is it the cost or the fact you don't get discounts?

beezel, Jesus, a) stop giving financial advice ("slumlord", "have insurance") and b) she was clearly joking you ninny.

Long time no see, UK Sullustian. Were we in AC5 or AC6? The best one, obviously.

All the computers I ever bought to go online with.

I don't regret it, except for maybe the very first one in hindsight, because it was the most expensive, I had to switch out the modem cards constantly (this was back in the era of dial-up), and when broadband became a thing, it was too outdated for it, necessitating me getting a new one that did.

    Really?

I mean I spent $1200 on a top end gaming machine here, and four times that on a watch, Dan. If a computer's top of the list...

College or my car. I don't remember the exact figures, so I'm not sure which.

16,000 for my then new 99 Saturn SC2, which has 199,000 miles on it this month and still runs great. I feel good about that.

Next would be 14,000 for an airplane, a 1950 Piper PA-20 Pacer. Owning your own airplane is cool. I miss that.

Honestly I already had Wocky go through my financial situation and the long story short is that I fall into the category of people who don't make enough to pay for health insurance, and make too much for obamacare to actually cover anything proper. So I basically end up broke either way.

So you work his top half, while I work his bottom. We don't need a line, he's getting double teamed.

Replacing my computer about 2 years ago cost me about $500; I paid it off in three months. As for the biggest lump sum, that was probably my HDTV off CraigsList, which was $225. Sadly, it was stolen about 3 months later, and I haven't bought another one yet.

I once paid about $12 for a plate of pancakes. They were big pancakes and they had this special macadamia sauce on them but I think that's the most I've ever paid for pancakes in any case.

£15m on Marouane Fellaini. It's fine, though; I sold him five years later for a lot more than that.

I have had a few tools that I bought for a high price that didn't end up being used a lot. Come to think about it, I spent a few electrical tools I haven't used that are still sitting in there packaging.
