What is the Rule of Thirds?

    A simple way of looking at the rule of thirds is to draw a tic-tac-toe board stretched out over your frame. Where a vertical and horizontal lines cross is where you want your emphasis points to be.

    On a closeup put the actors eyes along the top horizontal line and one of the vertical lines exactly between their eyes.

    Now, it really isn't a RULE. It is a suggestion, a guideline. It will help make your film look less like the video of gma's birthday.
