With a galaxy constantly plagued by war, is there any area or region in the galaxy that could be considered "safe" and "peaceful"? That's been relatively untouched by all the wars, and likely to remain protected and stable?

Well, I guess that Alderaan as the relatively peaceful planet without armament would be quite clear of... Oh, wait...

Naboo seems to have gone untouched even by the Yuuzhan Vong War.

I'm sure some areas of the Maw haven't been affected by war/are unlikely to be affected, due to isolation. That said, they're probably not all that safe or peaceful...

I expect there are lots of places, just that they aren't usually the ones that feature in stories to do with wars among the stars. Off the top of my head though I can't think of a pacifist world that's actually got very far with its pacifism... the Empire seemed to see to most of them. Even that rather peaceful long lived world in Millennium Falcon ended up with an Imperial garrison on it. [face_plain]

    Tython.

You gotta think that if there is a planet the Jedi go to for peace and meditation while half the galaxy is under Sith control, its gotta be gosh darn peaceful. Of course, if TOR doesn't feature some sort of "sacking of Tython", I'll be disappointed.

    Byss.

Depending on your definition of "safe" or "peaceful" that is.

Denon. Second largest population in the galaxy, at the crossroads of two major hyperspace routes, and has seemingly survived every major, recent war intact.

Iego? so long as you're not harboring a Jedi masquerading as a Bounty Hunter.

I'd have to say that the most peaceful place in the galaxy happens to have never been mentioned in canon due to the main way that the storyline gets advanced

...because when the Emperor of the Galaxy decides that your planet's history is so totally uneventful that the chances of anyone actually wanting to read it are so astronomically small that it's not a security threat to hide a blaster in every single copy of your planet's history on every single floor of the most important and sensitive location in the entire Empire--well, it's clear that you've got something going for you.:p

Probably the safest worlds in general are relatively insulated Core Worlds with little political activism or strategic value, or utterly insignificant Rim worlds that just aren't worth taking and are secure in their anonymity. Of course, the safest worlds in any given conflict vary -- the safest worlds in the YVW would be the insignificant ones farthest from the invasion corridor, while somewhere like Belkadan would normally be safe as safe could be, except it had the bad fortune to be the first point of the invasion corridor.

All in all, the safest worlds are the ones we've never heard of.

Only safe until someone named decides it's safe (a good place to hide), of course.

That would be Alderaan up until a certain point.

I was about to agree, but didn't it show up in Isard's Revenge?
