What is the WORST NJO novel so far?

Well, Star by Star absolutely swept the "Best NJO" poll with a crushing 60% of the vote, the rest of the votes being split relatively evenly among the rest. So I'm just wondering what you people think is the WORST NJO novel so far...

I voted for Ruin.

 

I didn't enjoy the latest installment all that much.

 

JE fairly reeks, even DJ is not as bad.

You don't have to hate any of them, I'm just asking which installment is worst. Them telling the story doesn't have anything to do with it; I could tell a part of the story too. That doesn't mean I'd be good at it, but I could do it.

 

Where's the "All of them suck" choice?

 

If I had to choose the worst, I choose DJ. However, there were some light, comical and entertaining moments in it.

Not a hopeless cause altogether.

What's wrong with ruin?? that was one of the best

 

I didn't think Ruin came together very well in the end. IMO, Stackpole wasn't very good at writing the basic Star Wars novel, that is, ones with all the characters. Also I remember the dialogue being very awkward and stiff. Overall, not even close to Stackpoles best and definitely the worst NJO book.

 

I said Ruin because of the Yeah! I saved Ithor. Wait what are those things? Oh, I guess I didn't save Ithor afterall ending. I also didn't care for the part in which our heroes are about to be defeated then all of a sudden the pollen makes the Vong armor suffocate(or something like that) the warrior that is wearing it. That part was too "War of the Worlds" for my taste.

 

my least favorite NJO books are hero's trial and jedi eclipse (i voted for jedi eclipse) and my favorite NJO book is ruin

I thought DJ was the worse. To me the book was rushed and made no sense what so ever at a few points. Take for example the trip to Gallinore and Jaina removing Lowies memory of a few certain events. Where did she learn that and how do you find out? Why you have to read it in Gamer to find out, which makes no sense. Why did'nt Cunningham just put it in the first place? I also thought the ending was weak with the entire battle for Hapes being...what 1.5 pages? If I recall correctly Jaina was in the fight for 3 paragraphs.

The storyline was good, I just thought the writing was not the greatest.

 

I think the point of the Hapes battle was it was nowhere near done. Jaina left before the end.

 

I found Jedi Eclipse to be the worst by far, bad to point of being nearly unreadable by times. But Dark Journey was bad too.

I don't know, maybe we just don't like Jaina's character much. I didn't but I can't speak for the rest.

I'm wondering why so many people picked Dark Journey as the absolute worst. Granted, it was relatively bad and was basically just a time filler, but I didn't think it was that bad. Maybe it's just because it was out so recently and so is still fresh in the mind. For me, the reality of Jedi Eclipse is hard to forget. Also, Star by Star is a hard act to follow, even if DJ had been a good book.
