I'll go with a rather unpopular idea here that I did like Vader having his own gothic castle. However not a Disney style one, more like the famous historical castle in Transylvania built on an hight steep mountain. The castle itself would be rather plain and simple fitting Vaders style.

 

Chancellor Yoda, don't know if you knew this. That's not Disney's castle. That's Mad King Ludwig's castle in Germany. Disney's castle was based on it, but that castle has some serious and strange history behind it. Ludwig was called "Mad King Ludwig" for a reason. Serious strangeness going on there.

 

Yeah, my guess is that it would be a fortress, a very utilitarian building with very little decor. I don't think that Vader has an appreciation of beauty.

I think they both did some outstanding work on these.

 

I actually wasn't referring to that castle when I said Disney castle. I was more referring that I couldn't picture Vader in one of those more generic castles. Interesting facts though, thanks.

I actually hope Disney will use some of those Mcquarrie art in future episodes or spinoffs. I can picture Snoke in that lava cave or something similar.

I noticed it said Tarkin was power-hungry. Wasn't it in the old canon that Tarkin "was seriously thinking" of overthrowing Palpatine?

 

Tarkin did seem to be quite the social climber in his book. I can see him aiming for the big chair. He would have been *zip zapped* into a pile of ashes, though.

 

If I remember right Tarkin was going to be a little more power hungry in ANH originally. Even alluding to using the death star against the emperor, though that probably wouldn't have turned out well.

 

Unless of course he fires the Death Star at Coruscant. I wouldn't underestimate Tarkin.

Agreed,that IIRC was why Vader was on the Death Star with Tarkin,to keep an eye on him.

 

I've always thought that Vader's wingmen are underrated. It's great to see art of them. Hopefully we'll get a story about them.

I'm betting that's the Sith shrine beneath Imperial Palace referenced in Tarkin.

 

He's such a beautiful monstrosity.
