Darth Vader is a control freak.

 

Finally remembered what I was thinking of the other day. I had a memory of a really good Vader Legends comic and couldn't figure it out.

Are you happy with Vader eventually turning out to be good? In my opinion he is more interesting when he is evil...

I think it is the perfect conclusion of his story arc. He wouldn't be such an interesting character without it imo.

 

I very much like Vader as grey / balanced. It shows the illogic of both sides.

Yeah, I honestly don't think I'd like him so much if he didn't have that little bit of goodness that made him have to try to be evil.

 

I really dont want to hurt feelings of people who like Aphra but make me understand how is that possible she is so sassy with him and he does nothing tto stop it. I am now reading Vader Down and I am angry because she calls him just Vader and not Lord Vader and moreover she is talking with him with her legs on the table!!!

She is useful for the time being. She is just a child to him, and to fight her over that would be trivial for him. Aphra was a tool to be used and thrown away, as he did.

That's what I picked up on.

 

Boba Fett was pretty sassy around Vader too in ESB. And if you notice, Imperials were quite relaxed around Vader in ANH; they could argue and disagree with him and that was fine. He only did not like when his religion was mocked, but other than that, he didn't really mind people being people much.

 

That's about what I got. As long as you're not mocking the Force, Darth Vader is kind of Darth Doesn't-Give-A-Crap.

Explain it to me, people, because I dont understand sth. In 'End of Games, in the beginning Thanoth says Aphra needs to be removed. I dont exactly understand why?

Edit: Are you talking about the Force ability to influence animals?

The coolest skill I think it's absorbing blaster bolts with his bare hands. I don't think any other Force user has ever done that in the new canon? Kylo can freeze them, which is also cool, albeit it has less useful value.

 

In the hallway scene there is a short moment when it seems like Vader catches a blaster bolt in his hand and then throws it back!

But my current favorite is this:


Telling a creature to fly into the sun: that's evil!

 

Yeah, that was insanely badass. That whole scene was just incredible and very creative.

 

Once I saw a short movie on youtube which was about all Vader's skills(some of which we might not know about) and there it was said he could summon animals. But perhaps it was just the force to influence animals
Moreover I read on Fanfiction net a beautiful fiction for Vader/Padme shippers and there is shown he could summon birds (as Anakin as well as Vader) The fiction is called 'Anniversaries of the Heart' and is to be found in Behind the Mask Star Wars community. It is beautifully told by one of teh she- servants of Lord Vader

Absorbing blaster bolts with his hand is absolutly kickass and Kylo must have a similar skill. he was Lord Vader's grandson, though

Another kisckass ability is the saber throw. I have never seen that with other force users. In Shadows and Secrets he shoots down a ship only by the saber throw. It so sweet, isnt it?!

 

He had to kill Cylo because what Cylo did was a profanation of Lord Vader. How could he tap Vader on his head. Its ubeliveable

Oh, and the hallway scene can be watched over and over again. Sheer power of Lord Vader's

 

Hmm, some of those Youtube videos might use info from books and comics that are no longer canon.

That saber throw scene in the comics was awesome. As for other characters that did that too, I think Obi-Wan did a saber throw in the Obi-Wan & Anakin comic series. He probably learned that from his master. But it's definitely more a Vader's signature move.
