When Palpatine is torturing Luke to death and Luke begs Vader to help him and finally Vader fulfills the prophecy and in the process redeems himself

When Luke looks into the twin suns, pondering his future in ANH, that is my favorite scene. Music is great, photography is great and we feel for this kid. No action, no dialogue and that scene is as fantastic as any other of the movies.

 

The entire scene of Luke on the DS2 in RotJ, with Palpatine and Vader and than the duel.

 

Mine is the same as ForceHeretics's. In fact, that's probably my favorite scene out of the entire saga.


I get goosebumps EVERY single time.

 

The scene is which Han is lowered into the carbonite.

So many, but I'd have to say when -- after Vader says "it's too late for me, son" and Luke leaves the passageway -- Vader leans against the railing and lowers his shoulders. The first sign of weakness in Vader. Extremely powerful, plus with the benefit of the PT you can almost see that sweet little kid reserrecting himself in that evil man.

 

When Vader looks at Luke, then the emperor, and back at Luke, then picks up the emperor and tosses him over the railing...awesome!

 

The most memorable scene(s) for me is the opening of ANH when the Blockade Runner zooms overhead, followed by the never-ending Star Destroyer. My second favorite scene is Darth Vader entering the Blockade Runner, hands on hips, breathing eerily, looking TOTALLY bad@$$.

 

"You've failed. I am a Jedi, like my father before me."

Love that scene.

 

A tossup between the Carbon freezing chamber and ESB Luke/Vader duel.

The entire throneroom scene of Return of the Jedi! Especially the final duel and the cue. I also love it when Darth Vader looks at both Luke and the Emperor. I wish he had looked back forth a few hundred more times, I like that part. The decision, the decision.

"Nooo!"

That whole sequence includes not only the best and most emotional light saber duel in the Saga, but the best and most emotional scene overall.

 

A lot of people love the ending of ROTJ!

 

There is a 2-way tie for me

#1 When Luke goes into the freezing chamber and it lights up.

#2 Any scene involving Carrie Fisher and the metal bikini.

 

Tossup between Han getting frozen, the asteroid chase (I LOVE the way the music swells after "Never tell me the odds!"), and the opening shot of ANH.

Honorable mention to Luke and Vader's fight in ROTJ, particularly thanks to that beautiful choir music.

 

The last 45 minutes of RotJ; namely, "Toss the Emperor."

I agree with the most. The final Palpatine scene when Anakin returns is probably the best of the OT. (I still think the "don't look back scene in TPM" is the best of the saga).

 

I also love Luke's scene on endor with vader

the dialogue is very good and really makes you see a hint of Anakin in him for the first time
