Census What is your favorite Harry Potter movie? v3

Prisoner of Azkaban is my all time favorite, along with The Half Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows 1 and 2. I love all of the films though.

 

I voted Chamber of Secrets. Too me, it was superior to the first one and was the last one to really try being close to the source material of the books. Many directors went on to take far too much artistic liberty with the material (stupid Burrow Burning scene!). Also, this was the last one with Richard Harris as Dumbledore.

 

To elaborate on my previous answer: Prisoner of Azkaban all the way. It's the best film of them all - not a slavish word-for-word copy like the first two films, and flows better and is more coherent than the later films (which feel very jumbled and disjointed). Cuarón managed to capture the essence and the atmosphere of the HP world perfectly. It's not without its faults (the missing backstory of the Marauders and the hairless werewolf are among my biggest peeves), but it is the best out of the eight HP films, IMHO.

Saw all of them except 4. Didn't care for any of them.
