It is a valid question...What is your favorite movie.
If you want to, include some dialogue from your movie.
EDIT: How about this be non-Star Wars movie (Spaceballs is fine)
My favorite movie is "Monty Python and the Holy Grail."

    Some dialogue:
"What is your name, o enchanter?"
"There are some who call me...Tim."

    "What is it you seek?"
    "We seek a..um..a"
    "A what?"
    "A gr..grr....a grr"
    "A GRRRAIL?!"
    "Yes, that's it."

"We are the knights who say nee. We are the keepers of the sacred words: Nee, Ping, and Neewom."
    "We demand a...Shrubbery."
    [over dramatic music]

"STOP! Whoever crosith the bridge of death must answer me these questions three, ere the other side he see."
"Question of the first: What is your name?"
    "Sir Robin of Camelot"
    "What is your quest?"
    "To seek the holy grail."
    "What...is the capitol of Asseria?"
"What, I don't know that. Ahhhhhhh"

That?s all for now(this is the best movie ever[next to Star Wars, there is no competition there])

    Real Genius...

"You ever have that dream where your standing on the top of a pyramid in sun-god robes and your surrounded by thousands of naked women who are all throwing little pickles at you.... no?.... Why am I the only one who has that dream?"

    What about...."Signs"

    "Swing away, Merrill."

You still have to like Monty Python,
"It could have gripped it from the husk"
"It's not a matter of where it grips it, it is a simple matter of weight ratios."
"Will you ask your lord or not!?"
"Listen, a five ounce swallow cannot carry a one pound coconut."

One of the best movies for quoting lines has to be Army of Darkness.
"Good, bad - I'm the guy with the gun."
    "Gimme some sugar, baby"
    "what a horrible nightmare" ;)

And Tommy Boy. Too many good lines to quote from that one.:)
Kevin Smith movies seem to be pretty good, too, though, now that I'm thinking about it.

I like many of the previously mentioned. I tried to come up with one that had little SW ties. That excluded Lucas' Indy films, (love no. 3), and the SW dialogue filled View Askewverse films. Leaving me one of the greatest guy flicks of all-time: TOMBSTONE.

"He was quoting the Bible- Revelations: Behold the pale horse. The man who sat on him was Death. And Hell followed with him." [face_devil]

"No, make no mistakes. It's not revenge he's after- it's a reckoning."

    "I'm your huckleberry."

"I stand corrected Wyatt, you're an Oak." [face_plain]

"You gonna do somethin' or just stand there and bleed?" ?[face_plain]

along with many other blasty great quotes!

I?ll exclude Star Wars, which everyone of them I love!

Back to the Beginning: Forbidden Planet.

It has sexual frustration, a drunk, an invisible monster of ID, special effects, scenery, men torn to pieces (they do not show), big footprints. I never did like Robby, he?s been in a lot of movies. Mad scientist using an ancient alien culture?s advancements, good sets and bent and molten metal and the beautiful sharp dressed Altaira. And the first holographic image of... Altaira

    The whole script is corny and good, ?I?ll put more guards on the guards.? 8-}

Other favs at the time: War of the World (I blasted everything when they made me mad, drove my family nuts!) and the War of the Gargantua (I loved it when the Green one spit out the clothes, I wanted to give it a toothpick, then after the explosion a little bit of green was in the water, suspense!)

Wow, so many to choose from... so so many.

There's new movies, like "Bedazzled" - "holy crap, I speak spanish!"

And "Devil's Advocate," any of the rants by Al Pacino make the hairs on my arms raise.

80's movies like Real Genius (Hey Jayce, did you know that was on DVD?hehe) are always a classic - I think that movie was one of the motivators to get into Physics.

Going back to the older movies, like "the Godfather" - Cripes, that's my family (too a point, we stopped killing years ago).

And don't forget "Young Frankenstein", "History of the World" and "Blazing Saddles".

    Wow.... how do you choose?

Not necessarily one of my favorite movies, but I've always liked this bit from 13th Warrior:

Lo, there do I see my father.
Lo, there do I see my mother and my sisters and my brothers.
Lo, do I see the line of my people back to beginning.
Lo, do they call to me.
They bid me take my place among them in the halls of Valhala
    ...Where the brave shall live......Forever.

Of course, I also like the Viking Kittens, so maybe it?s a Viking thing.

To answer to question, some of my all-time favorite movies are Moulin Rouge, Rocky Horror, Galaxy Quest, Sixth Sense and Sleeping Beauty. I'm not much of a movie snob, I just like what I like. ;)

    Well lets see...

    Fight Club
"This is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time."
"With a gun barrel between your teeth, you speak only in vowels."
    and my favorite...
"If you could wake up in a different place, at a different time, could you wake up as a different person?"

I like this. One other movie that I absolutely love is Willy Wonka
"It happens every time, they all become blueberries!"
    "The suspense is terrible . . . I hope it'll last."
"So shines a good deed in a weary world."

Movies are so great. I have over 300 dvds believe it or not. Useless trivia about myself. Star Wars and movies, who would've guessed?

Cruel Intentions - although any of the lines I like are too explicit to post here :) I think that was Sarah Michelle Gellar best movie work to date.

I love that movie as well Space Cadet... there are three reasons I love the "Big Lebowski"...

    (1) It's a Cohen Brothers movie
    (2) It had bowling in it
    (3) It was named after me (hehe)... of course my last name ends in a "y" though (I'll forgive them though)

    For sheer fun :

Top Gun - I've been in a modified F-14 cockpit, what a trip it would be to fly one!

Beverly Hills Cop - Eddie Murphy in a funny movie - "Yo baby, yo baby, yo baby!"

Lethal Weapon - flying toilets --

Oh and let's not forget (like one or two of us would omit this one...)

"Diamonds are a girls best friend" -- Moulin Rouge
